54-56 La Prade, 09300, Bénaix
Been here?
Quiet village parking area at the municipal school, with a beautiful rural panorama and two picnic tables. Recent visitors describe friendly residents and a peaceful overnight setting, with occasional cow or sheep sounds. An outdoor sink and water point have been mentioned behind the town hall, but permission and drinking-water status are unclear; a nearby cemetery fountain is not drinking water. Access roads are very narrow, especially from Saint Jean and Chalabre.

The spot is pleasant, with a very beautiful view and very kind, welcoming residents. However, you should really avoid arriving via the D117. The GPS sends you onto the small road toward Benaix from Saint-Jean, but this road is very narrow, winding, and has some steep climbs. It is better to take the road from Lavelanet, which is much easier and faster.
We thank the municipality for this site with its two picnic tables. We confirm that the road from Chalabre is narrow, but be careful when descending toward Lavelanet: at the very end of this road, where it reaches the town's main street, there is a very tight right-hand turn. It was very tight for our 7.5 m vehicle.
Very quiet, beautiful site, but the road to get there and leave is narrow.
A place where silence reigns! Perfect for spending the night. Indeed, there is a sink and water available behind the town hall, but are we allowed to use them? A plastic chain has been installed. The lowing of the cows breaks the silence, but I prefer this kind of countryside noise to the noise of cities!
Perfect for spending a night: quiet and pleasant.
A very beautiful place for nature lovers, a flat spot in the countryside beside a rarely used regional road. Tap, sink, bins, and two picnic tables. Many thanks to the municipality.
