39 Wroxham Road, NR12 7AF, Coltishall
Been here?
This lay-by beside common land offers picturesque river views and can provide a peaceful overnight stop. It is slightly sloped, with some visitors using the kerb to level their vans, and the road becomes quiet after 11pm. Several pubs, a chip shop and a café are nearby, but the area gets busy in sunshine.

Stayed last night in our camper van. (A Sunday) Arrived in dark and rain but no sign of flooding despite proximity to the river. Only one there Folded mirror in to keep footpath clear for dog walkers in morning of which there were quite a few. Lovely picturesque spot. Had breakfast watching the herons in the sunshine . Glad to see no litter. Translating
We stopped overnight on a Friday. Near a road, but went quiet after 11pm. Excellent pubs 2 min walk away with canoe and paddle board hire, and we could still connect to their WiFi from the van! As others wrote, the car park is on a slant, so we parked with our wheels on the kerb just for the night, then moved in the morning.Translating
We loved this park up. Super peaceful! We parked our wheels slightly on the curb to level us out a bit (without affecting the path). Translating
Great spot. Off the road enough to not hear the traffic at all. Plenty of spaces. Looks out onto the lake. Benches and bins alongside river. Pub a 5 minute walk away for food or toilet. Had no trouble. Was slightly on a slant to the side but that might have been the spot I picked and wasn’t terrible. Translating
A lovely peaceful spot to sleep in a campervan. Well off the main road so feels very secure, traffic not a problem. A few boats pulled up, a few anglers and a couple of dog walkers. The King's Head is open at 8 am for coffee, breakfast and loos. I highly recommend. Translating
Very peaceful, quite busy during the day as its next to a common by the river but it's 10pm now and haven't heard a sound outside for a couple of hours. There's 2 other campervans parked up and been quiet all evening. lovely village tooTranslating
Two very quiet nights, I recommend it!Translating
A beautiful spot and many amenities close by, the only issue was that some rowdy pub goers thought it would be funny to hit the wall of the van at about 10pm. Given how light the evenings are at this time of year, there were groups of people deflating paddle boards/kayaks until about 10pm too. Other than that, we had a peaceful sleep!Translating
Stay here the night, lovely and quiet, no problems or issues. Definitely more suited to campervans rather than motorhomes due to the road being so narrowTranslating
Brilliant spot. Right next to the common with terrific views over the river. Walks all around. Boat bin close by. Road is nearby but not busy at night. Lots of boats overnighting very close by. 2 good pubs at other end of common. 15 walk to opposite end of village for shops & cafe. Everyone very friendly. Plenty of room for our small motorhome.Translating
Lovely, although not level, ramps recommended. Not a lot of room to manoeuvre, Lovely walk into the village, lovely coffee shop 15 mins walk away, public bins and waste recycling at far end of the common.Translating
lovely little spot, just off a main road but quiet at night and lovely views of the river. 2 lovely pubs 5 mins away and do yourself a favour and take a walk up to horstead Mill (10 mins) beautiful spot!Translating
Quiet little spot, just far enough off road to not be bothered by passing traffic. 2 pubs within walking distance. sunset views are amazing. Translating
Amazing place, great pubs within walking distance.Translating
A real treat! Perfect for van conversions, but anything wider will block the road. peaceful, undisturbed night. Go find Thoebolds Church, a beautiful romantic ruined church.Translating
stayed here one night, was very warm so was very busy loads of locals with paddle boards which was good to see people out and about, the thing is that they left all the rubbish piled around the bin which is for boat use only.Translating
Really lovely place! Pub is a very short walk away across the field. Super quiet during the night, can fish from the moor and the park up is straight onto the field (great for the dog!) - friendly locals. Translating
