Been here?
A large lakeside campsite with swimming access, family activities and pitches for quiet overnight stays, about 20 minutes by bike from Astrid Lindgren Park. Toilets and showers are generally clean and well maintained, with a kitchen, laundry, restaurant and bread service. The site can be crowded and tightly spaced in high season, while the sanitary facilities smelled on one recent stay. A cheaper pitch cost 295SEK per night, and first-row pitches cost 100 SEK more.

Large site, great for families who want to stay a little longer—it offers a lot! For us, with our 10-month-old baby, it was a little too expensive and crowded. Washing machine and dryer available for an extra charge.
The sanitary facilities smell. Cramped site, everything packed closely together. Full because of Astrid's World. Even though we have small children ourselves, I cannot recommend it.
clean place, nice swimming place. really dog friendly, dogs own area + swim place. also dogfriwndly restaurant. Can hifhly recommend.
A beautiful campsite. Unfortunately, we stayed only one night. There are many leisure activities available. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pizza is amazing, and the restaurant staff are also very friendly. All the sanitary facilities and services we used were clean and orderly.
Very friendly staff, great site, clean sanitary facilities.
Absolutely recommended! Three days with two adults and two children, excellent value for money. Very good sanitary facilities, great play areas for the children, overall very well maintained, and helpful staff.
Great campsite with clean service points, sanitary facilities, and excellent infrastructure. Wonderful view of the lake. Price-wise, it was at the upper end of what we usually paid in Sweden at this time of year. Thank you for the pleasant stay.
Beautiful site, sandy beach, clean sanitary facilities, and child-friendly.
Nice campsite, very clean sanitary facilities, no problem arriving late with pre-booking, very friendly staff, highly recommended.
Really beautiful campsite directly on a lake. Very nice staff are present until about 6 p.m.; afterwards, you can call a phone number and pay calmly the next day. Showers and toilets are clean! We highly recommend it.
Good site for visiting Vimmerby. Heated and clean sanitary facilities. BUT the showers do not drain, which, combined with the lack of clothes hooks, results in wet clothes that remain wet because the dryer is broken. The restaurant was closed, and in early May, at 8°C, the gravel area was pointlessly salted. Far too expensive for that.
Nice and quiet site in the off-season, at the end of September. We chose a cheaper pitch for SEK 295 per night, yet still had a great view of the lake. Pitches in the front row cost SEK 100 more. The service building was clean and equipped with everything needed.
The location by the lake is beautiful and everyone is friendly, but it is very expensive. The sanitary facilities are okay. The 24/7 shop was closed even though it was supposed to be open. We booked the hot tub, but nobody was there and the water was so hot that we had to cool it ourselves with cold water and wait a long time before using it. Not justified for the price of SEK 556.
Very well-equipped campsite for visiting Vimmerby. Very high turnover, as around 90% of guests stayed only one night. The campsite facilities were excellent and nothing was missing. It is a shame that the pitches are laid out so simply. Our pitch had more the feel of an XXL car park.
As previously described in the comments from August 2025. Our price for three nights for a 6-metre campervan and two people was around SEK 400 per night. Reasonable, and worth coming back.
Highly recommended, especially if you want to explore Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren's World. Great pizza—simply exceptional combinations. We were here with five children and would come back anytime.
A very beautiful site. Not exactly cheap—one 9-metre camper, three adults, two children, and pitch selection cost SEK 1,065 for two nights—but it is worth it. Good pitches, excellent swimming beach, and clean shower, laundry, and toilet buildings. Always hot water. Showers and Wi-Fi included in the price. We will come back.
Very beautiful, relatively large site in greenery, directly beside a lovely swimming lake. There are several great playgrounds, a bathing area for dogs, and even a fenced dog meadow. Five minutes from Astrid Lindgren's World. We will definitely return.
Well organised, everything available and clean; a good base for Astrid Lindgren's World; large playground and child-friendly beach area.
Very beautiful view of the lake, good swimming opportunities, a great beach, and very clean sanitary facilities. We got a spacious pitch, and it was not too far from Vimmerby.
Large campsite with everything you need, including a lake. A classic family campsite. Since it is in a major holiday region, it is naturally busy, but it is still very quiet. Prices are similar to almost everywhere in the region, somewhat expensive. Good location for Astrid Lindgren's World and the Astrid Lindgren Museum. Both are easily reachable by bicycle, and a shuttle bus also goes to Astrid Lindgren's World.
Far too expensive for us, two adults and four children: SEK 595! By far the most expensive site we have had in the last two weeks. For such a small site... At least showers and electricity are included. Directly on the lake with a beautiful swimming area and playground. But far too expensive for Sweden! Not recommended.
A wonderfully terraced campsite by the lake. With our motorhome, we had pitch G, so we were away from the hustle and bustle down by the lake. The 24/7 self-service shop is particularly useful. You can also get bread rolls there in the morning.
Very large site, quite okay for visiting Astrid Lindgren's World. Swimming area with jetty and platform, new playground. Very many guests and therefore many children, so it is noisy. The pitches in front of reception are directly beside the road. Sanitary facilities poorly maintained, although this is probably due to the large number of guests.
Very large site directly on the lake. Many activities, unfortunately it rained and we could not use them. Good service, and reception even spoke German. Astrid Lindgren's World is easily reachable by bicycle. Showers and toilets are fine, although the drain smelled a little. We find the site rather expensive, probably because of its location.
A huge site. Everything is in good order. Unfortunately, it is very noisy, with an incredible number of children, and cars constantly driving back and forth. We paid SEK 560 for a motorhome and two people, which I personally find far too expensive.
Superb campsite with many activities on site, including canoeing, pedal boats, fishing spots, a restaurant and pizzeria, a 24-hour kiosk, a diving tower, and much more. SEK 475 per night for 4x6 metres is reasonable, I think. Showers, toilets, and washrooms can be used without tokens or anything similar and are included in the price. Very nice staff; one young woman even speaks perfect German, which made things much easier.
We used the pitch as an overnight stop. During the day, we visited Astrid Lindgren's World. Very nice staff. Toilets and showers were okay. We will come back.
Beautifully located campsite that is somewhat dated. Compared with the previous sites, the sanitary facilities and grounds are a little less well maintained. The campsite is currently also being expanded. Friendly service and a good location for sightseeing nearby. Wi-Fi is poor in the upper areas.
A beautiful site. The lake is wonderful for a short canoe trip. Vimmerby and Astrid Lindgren's World are quickly reachable by bicycle. I can highly recommend it.
Beautiful campsite with very friendly owners. Open even in winter. The toilets could be a little cleaner, however.
