A quiet roadside parking place and starting point for walks toward Pizzo Carbonara and the Madonie National Park. There are no services, and finding level ground can be difficult, although space is plentiful. The access road has many potholes, while the trail can be rough and may retain 10-20 cm of snow in early May. Deer, wild boar, foxes, and other wildlife may visit the area.

The main road up to Piano Battaglia is full of potholes. Quiet night. At the beginning of May, the trail to Pizzo Carbonara—rather rough in places—still had sections covered by 10–20 cm of snow. It is best to have a GPS track of the route, walking poles, and waterproof hiking boots.Translating
A truly beautiful place. Remote and quiet, with foxes and deer around the camper (please keep your rubbish inside). Breathtaking views and a walk to Pizzo Carbonara. We stayed farther out on the grass and cleaned up some rubbish there. To everyone without a toilet, please take your toilet paper back with you in a bag. Or buy a Porta Potti, or sleep in the refuge a little farther on. It is truly disgusting for those who come after you; leave everything cleaner than you found it. It is difficult to find a level spot, but otherwise it is an incredible location. In the evening and at night, the area fills with fallow deer and wild boar. Be very careful not to let your dogs roam free; it is dangerous. A loop trail to Pizzo Carbonara starts here, taking about four hours, and it is beautiful.Translating
