Riverside Road, DL10 4QP, Richmondshire
Been here?
A free riverside parking area beside the River Swale, with space for upto 4 vans if parked carefully, though the spaces are slightly sloped. Waterfalls and public toilets are a 1 minute walk away, while the town's shops and pubs are 10 to 15 minutes uphill. It is usually quiet and peaceful, with river sounds and walks nearby. Recent disturbance included minicab radios and slamming doors until midnight.

Great spot last night facing the river, with plenty of walks. Slightly spoiled by two minicabs parked here with their radios blaring while they camped on the opposite riverbank. Then they wandered over and kept slamming their doors until midnight. Otherwise quiet until the road sweeper at 7 a.m. Definitely unsuitable for motorhomes because of the length and width of the approach road. Vans up to 6 m maximum.
stunning spot, spent a couple of nights here parked by the river, Richmond Castle is dog friendly and well worth a visit, and theres some beautiful walks, lovely town and friendly people. Theres a public pay carpark 100m down the road with public toilets (have 20ps handy) it is a steep walk up to the castle, but im fat and out of shape but still managed it
What a lush spot! The toilets are a minute walk away and we were lucky enough that they were open on the night even though it says closed, tried the door and was open. Right on the waters edge and the waterfalls are impressive. Lovely little town, but very steep walk, just a short walk uphill. Would highly recommend.
Piece full, friendly locals a public toilets and close to local shops and other facilities
Perfect stop over, lovely and quiet listening to the river run and owls at night, public toilets two minutes walk away, plenty pubs restaurants takeaways and shops for food and essentials all 7 minutes walk away.
Great little place to park. 5 minute walk into the town square and less than a minute to the waterfalls and toilets. You do have to park carefully to get 4 vehicles in. Ours is 6 m and we parked in the middle. Very quiet night and great to wake up to the sound of the water. Took out dog on the walk to Easby Church by the river - excellent!
