Very nice, quiet place. The owner, Niko, was born in Germany, and the site is of a very high standard. Boat tours with a German-speaking guide are offered, including transfer, for €40. A pitch for a van costs €25 for two people. Niko is also happy to give travel tips!
Amazing little campsite with incredibly warm and friendly owners. We only planned to stay for a night and ended up staying for 3! With E-bikes to rent for €30 one day and a super informative and immersive boat tour for €35 pp the next. A gem of a find at €25 per night and with other local things to do such as, wine tasting and also sunset painting and wine. Would definitely come back here again!
Beautiful, clean, and tidy. We’ll be happy to return.
Very pleasant contact beforehand and on site as well. The boat tour was really lovely and is recommended. Personally, I found the shower inconvenient: the door cannot be locked, so you shower behind a curtain and hang your towel outside, hoping nobody needs to use the toilet. His very friendly manner makes up for the price: €25 per night for a camper and two people. Thanks for the lovely tour.
A beautiful, small, idyllic campsite with very clean sanitary facilities. We were warmly welcomed by Niko’s mother. We had a wonderfully beautiful boat tour with Niko, who told us a lot about Montenegro’s history and nature in German, and above all gave us a very personal experience far from mass tourism. Many thanks again; we’ll gladly come back!
We stayed at Niko’s for two nights; everything was excellent. Beautiful grassy site, although with little shade, which did not bother us. Super-clean sanitary facilities! The boat trip with Niko was informative; we learned a lot about the flora, fauna, and history of Montenegro. We saw and heard many birds, and thanks to the early departure, the lake was not crowded. We can only recommend it!
A lovely small campsite. We took a nice boat trip on the lake with the owner, who gave an engaging explanation of the flora, fauna, and history.
I can only agree with most previous reviewers. We came to the site by a lucky coincidence. Clean site with waste disposal facilities. Hot shower, clean toilet, level pitch. The boat trip offered by Niko was the highlight: informative and fun. Both are absolutely recommended. We’d gladly come back. His tips for continuing our journey through Montenegro were also excellent.
Very well-maintained small campsite. Very friendly and attentive welcome. The boat trip on the lake is beautiful and very interesting. Nikolais is a warm guide who knows how to help visitors appreciate the lake’s wildlife and flora, as well as its history.
Very pleasant, quiet, green campsite. Simple and functional facilities and services. Special mention for Nicolais, the owner, who takes great care of his guests. The boat trip on the lake that he offers is really worthwhile, with explanations and anecdotes, in English that is understandable even for French people! Thank you, Nicolais.
I can only agree with the previous reviews. Top site, wonderfully beautiful and informative boat tour. Reasonable prices. Be careful on the approach: the boat-tour providers in town are very persistent and may not accept that you want to go to the campsite. Don’t let them distract you; take the right turn. The campsite is 1.6 km farther inland, reached by a narrow road with small passing bays.
Twenty minutes’ walk from the village of Virpazar. Everything clean, hot water, no criticism. €25 per night is reasonable for the location. Niko and his mother were also very warm and welcoming. For German-speaking travelers, the boat tour with Nikolais is absolutely recommended. You may get a cheaper deal in the village, but there you are handled in a crowd.
The site has everything you need. We spent a quiet night and took a boat tour with Niko the next day. During the tour, Niko tells you a lot about nature as well as the history of Montenegro, which we found very interesting.
We really enjoyed this small, quiet campsite. The welcome was excellent. The toilets were spotless. We paid €20 in cash per night with the ACSI card. The boat tour with Nikolaï, in English or German, will remain one of our best memories; he is a great guide. It costs €35 per person for four people. Bring cash. On our return, we tasted lake carp; ask Nikolaï for good addresses.
Small, family-run site with clean sanitary facilities. We took a boat tour with Niko that we will remember for a long time. Beautiful nature and very entertaining information about the lake’s flora, fauna, and history made the tour perfect. It cannot be compared with what is offered in town! Everything was perfect!
Great, quiet campsite. Niko’s mother welcomed us very warmly in German! Anyone who really wants genuine information about the lake and Montenegro’s history will gladly pay a little extra for Niko’s informative, entertaining boat tour. There is a toilet on board!
Wonderful place. Very clean. We took a boat trip with Niko; it was simply a highlight for us. More than four hours, everything explained perfectly in German, including a visit to Kom Monastery. We set off at 9 a.m., when there were no other boats, and saw many species of birds. Thank you, Niko.
I never saw the owner, only spoke to him on the phone. Early the next morning, Grandma was already waiting in front of the camper to collect €25 for one person for one night in mid-April, off-season, even though the website says €15 in the low season. By the way, a boat trip costs €20 in Virpazar harbor, including the €5 entrance fee.
Top campsite, very hospitable grandmother. The pitch and sanitary facilities are in very well-maintained condition.
Very nice place, with water and electricity at every pitch. Be sure to take a boat tour with the owner, Nico.
Great, quiet motorhome spot. Sanitary facilities clean, with hot water for showers. The owner speaks German and was very friendly! I would come again.
Super-nice small campsite. As a group with one car, one tent, and a T4 camper, we paid €35 for one night. Showers and toilets were clean and had hot water. The owner and his mother both speak German and were very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Very quiet campsite, €20 per night, with water and electricity at every pitch and gray- and black-water disposal available. Very clean sanitary facilities. Warm welcome from Nikolai’s mother. The additional three-hour boat excursion for €35 was fantastic. One star deducted because the shower water was cold. I recommend it.
Campsite is peaceful and 20 minutes walk into Virpazar. Good welcome from owner, use WhatsApp as contact with him. He also offers boat trips for additional 35 euros which is very worthwhile doing. Could do with extra bathroom facilities as there are only two which isn’t enough, hence the four rather than five stars.
After sending a WhatsApp message, we were allowed to choose a pitch. Later we met Nicolas, who arranged a boat trip for the next day. It is a pleasant site with ten spaces, on both the left and right. Clean sanitary facilities with toilet paper. A 25-minute walk to the village. €20 for one night: campervan, two adults, one dog, electricity, and water. Boat trip €35 per person, excluding the €5 Skadar Pass. TOP!
We spent one night at this small, pleasant campsite with very friendly owners. The elderly lady gave us a warm welcome. She spoke good German, and we enjoyed talking with each other. Nicolas took us on his lake excursion at a fair price. We paid €40 per person; the children were free. We learned a lot from him and laughed a lot.
We give the pitch five stars, the boat tour Niko offers another five, and Niko’s commitment, helpfulness, and warmth another five. It is clean, orderly, peaceful, family-friendly, and uncomplicated. The boat trip is especially pleasant with children of your own and very entertaining thanks to Niko. Feel free to accept the wine tasting offered—great! Absolute recommendation!
Well-located and very clean campsite. Great welcome from Nikolais and his mother. Above all, we recommend the boat trip on Lake Shkoder with Nikolais, who speaks English and German and knows a great deal about history, botany, and more.
Excellent pitch, water and electricity, sanitary facilities fine, a little shade on the pitches, and a well-shaded communal area. Very reasonable price and a lovely place, but the best part is the boat trip offered by the owner, Nikolais. Honestly fantastic for young and old, with great explanations and anecdotes in English or German, lasting three hours. Come and stay the night before the trip because Niko sets off early in the morning and will take you to his boat without any problems. Highly recommended experience! Thank you, Nikolais.
Nice little site! As mentioned several times here, the boat trip with the warm-hearted Niko is highly recommended. We managed to get up and down easily with our alcove motorhome.
Perfect: very clean sanitary facilities with hot water. Every pitch has water and electricity. Quiet campsite. The boat trip with Niko, the owner, was excellent. The only drawback is that it is 1.5 km from the town center, but it is flat for walking.
Very well-organized and clean campsite, with electricity and water for every pitch, two tables in the shade with a light, well-maintained sanitary facilities, and Wi-Fi. The owners are very friendly. Do not miss the boat trip with Nikola; you get transportation from the campsite and truly interesting explanations and conversations on the boat. We are very glad we did not let ourselves be persuaded otherwise when the town vendors approached us as soon as we turned into Virpazar.
Such a warm and lovely welcome from Niko and his “Mom”... Super-nice, quiet site between neighbors’ gardens, right in nature. Everything very clean. Electricity and drinking water at every pitch. The truly informative and funny boat tour with Niko on the lake is highly recommended. We’ll gladly come back!
The best you can have on Lake Skadar: super people, very good location and services, the best skeeper & guide for the most enjoyable boat tour!
A simple campsite in a beautiful location, with excellent sanitary facilities. The owner, Nikolais, is incredibly friendly. We took a boat trip with him and it was excellent. He is an enthusiastic storyteller about the lake and its history. It was a beautiful experience, and I recommend everyone join him on an adventure.
Actually more like 4.4 stars. Small site run by Niko and his mother. Best reached via WhatsApp. Niko also offers a boat tour of the lake, which we can highly recommend. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of barking from dogs on the surrounding properties at night. Toilets and shower were okay. His cousin also offers wine and brandy tasting in the evening, which unfortunately we did not try.
We stayed at Nico’s campsite. We were warmly welcomed by his mother. It is a very beautiful and well-maintained site. During a phone call in German, we arranged a boat trip. The boat trip was wonderful, with lots of information about the lake. We would book with him again anytime. Don’t get intercepted by the providers at the front of town. Recommended.
Everything was as described. We had a super enjoyable stay in this very well cared for campsite. Ablutions perfectly clean and functional. It is so worthwhile to do the boat trip with Nico, the owner - it was an excellent experience. Arrange with him on site and don't get distracted by the many vendors trying to sell you trips as you drive into Virpasar. Thanks Nico & Mum, you have a great place.
