Unnamed Road, 363 34, Rottne
Been here?
This is a rustic nature campsite with large, unmarked lakeside pitches, direct water access, fire places and a small beach. The lakeside pitches have no electricity, while electricity is available only on the owner’s meadow; dry toilets, waste disposal and free rowboats are provided. Payment is by envelope, and the owner checks vehicle plates every night.

Great location. Direct access to the lake, covered fire pit, but the pitch is separated from it by the path to the fire pit and access route. Accordingly, there is less seclusion, which was perfectly fine for us. Since light rain is forecast for the next few days, the covered fire pit is simply excellent. Toilets are available, but I am glad I brought a portable toilet.Translating
You have to drive 1,500 km to find what you have been looking for your whole life of camping. The most beautiful place I have ever stayed.Translating
Exactly right for self-sufficient overlanding vehicles that otherwise camp in the wild… We had several peaceful days, since many people stay only one or two nights because they need shore power. We had a full water tank, enough supplies, and nothing else—that is exactly how it should be… Dogs welcome; fishing is possible with an iFiske card… For overcrowded southern Sweden, it is perfect, almost like being in the north…Translating
Super beautiful campsite set in nature. An absolute dream if you want to stay self-sufficiently and enjoy some peace and quiet. Mats is very friendly and helpful.Translating
A great place to try wild camping. Everything is as described: there are many small “private” pitches directly by the lake, giving you the feeling of being alone. Electricity is only available in the meadow at the owner’s farm. When you occupy a pitch (choose one yourself), turn the sign around from “green” to “red.” Freshwater and waste disposal are available. Overall, a fantastic stopover.Translating
Very nice campsite, great location and very quiet. The toilets (Dixi toilets only) are okay. You mainly pay for the location, but it is worth it.Translating
My favorite place! Pure nature, no comforts. Very nice, large, unpartitioned pitches without electricity by the lake. Each pitch has a fire pit. Lovely small beach for swimming. Freshwater, waste disposal and payment are all straightforward. Simply wonderful for nature lovers.Translating
One of the most beautiful places on our tour of Sweden, without much fuss—pure nature. At the end of September, four pitches were occupied.Translating
The pitches by the lake with their own fire pits are simply dreamy. Truly a highlight and worth the money. Dry firewood is available on site. The rowing boats, which can be borrowed free of charge, did not really appeal to me. Payment via PayPal, including for firewood, was easy. Waste disposal was straightforward.Translating
We have been coming here for years. The price of firewood has stayed stable. The overnight price has tripled. We still think it is worth it! Our second-favorite place in Sweden. We will not reveal the first one ;)Translating
This is what we were looking for. Staying legally alone by the lake. Making a fire and looking out over the water. We were warmly welcomed. The toilet waste disposal is a little adventurous, but it works. The shallow swimming area is great for children. Bicycles are useful here—Rottne is easy to reach and the supermarket is surprisingly good.Translating
Simply dreamy—here for the second time and delighted again! It was another highlight of our trip through Sweden. The grounds are spacious, close to nature and offer one thing above all: lots of peace and quiet. We stayed self-sufficient for three nights. Freshwater is readily available. Payment via PayPal is possible.Translating
Definitely worth it. Most pitches are far apart and directly by the lake in the forest. Electricity is only available at the pitches by the farm, though they are not as nice. You can charge devices in lockers at the farm.Translating
Quite a special place. The individual pitches are scattered through the forest. You can paddle through the narrow channel by canoe or kayak. The option to make a campfire completes the special experience. We were completely self-sufficient. The Dixi toilets are not our thing.Translating
A lovely place to stay. You should be able to camp self-sufficiently. Personally, I do not find the “reception” very welcoming—run-down and dilapidated. It took us a while to find the waste-disposal station, and it was quite an adventure. Payment was easy, by cash or PayPal. Although it was very nice, I do not think the price of 300 SEK is justified.Translating
We stayed for two nights because it was so beautiful; you feel completely alone. The bicycles are also a great way to explore the site. Freshwater and waste disposal worked without any problems. We would gladly return.Translating
We have been coming to Matt’s for 11 years in a row. That shows how much we like the place. However, there is almost a price increase every year. 300 kronor is already a bit too much. When we drove onto the site and emptied our tanks and filled up with water, we were immediately asked where we were from and why we had not emptied there. We felt a little uncomfortable.Translating
Here for the second time, and still my favorite place. Treat this place respectfully so it will be around for a long time. PayPal payment is also possible.Translating
This was our most beautiful campsite. You must go there if you can camp self-sufficiently.Translating
Great concept and wonderful atmosphere. Anytime again! Unfortunately, I have not found a comparable place anywhere else.Translating
Beautiful stopover in the middle of nature, without comforts but with freshwater and waste-disposal facilities. The lockers at the entrance, where you can charge your phone, tablet and so on, are great. The free bicycles are also useful for getting around the site.Translating
Fantastic little pitches in a beautiful setting. Very relaxed atmosphere. Everything is perfectly looked after.Translating
Super beautiful! If you are looking for peace and want to experience Swedish nature, this is the right place. You should be able to camp self-sufficiently; otherwise, the Dixi toilets may be a little far away. We only intended to stay overnight, but ended up staying for a week. All in all, such a beautiful place—we will return!Translating
Perfect! Great pitches in the middle of nature. On the way to the forest, at the farm, there is everything you need for self-sufficient camping, except electricity of course. We will return. I am going outside to the fire basket, which is at almost every pitch.Translating
Great pitches, secluded and directly by the water. Excellent sandy beach for swimming. For 300 SEK (or €5 extra when paying in euros), we found the overflowing Dixi toilets rather inadequate.Translating
Wow! Simply a great place! We would have liked to stay longer! Not suitable for people who prefer partitioned campsites. Self-sufficient camping is essential. We particularly liked the seclusion and the private fire pit directly by the water beside our van. The operator was neither unfriendly nor unreasonable. We had a great time!Translating
