Mountain parking, strong winds

We had a very pleasant short stay. A quiet and magnificent place (in winter, off-season). Hiking is possible right next door, for all levels. In short, I highly recommend this little piece of paradise.

Perfect! Large, level parking area with a magnificent view, ideal for spending the night.

We stayed in this car park because we had seen that overnight parking was prohibited farther on (although many vans and motorhomes were there anyway; this should be checked). We were still very comfortable; the place is level and there were few people around us. The hike or trail to the summit of Hautacam is easily accessible and well worth it.

Beautiful views, above the clouds. Quite a lot of other people but still easy to find a spot - especially a flat one. Would recommend!

Excellent spot: magnificent view, quiet and silent at night. Bins and toilets (closed at night, in the activity park) nearby. And a general tip for anyone who wants to hear it: do not park right next to others when the space is huge and empty!

Great spot, with a few flies that stick to you at the end of the day. View over the valley below, superb sunset. Woken by horses and sheep. Quite a few hikes to do a little higher up, and 500 m from the resort with various summer activities.

10 August 2024 - Spot beside a mountain-pass road. Unobstructed view over the valley and mountains stretching as far as the eye can see in the background. Especially the absolutely insane sunset. It sets almost behind Pic du Midi d’Ossau. Many vans and motorhomes, but room for everyone (we arrived at 6 p.m. and were among the first). The road climbs to the ridge, and you can park comfortably with plenty of space everywhere. Accompanied by cows and horses, this spot is now in our top five.

We slept there for two nights in early July. Excellent spot, not too crowded, and very little traffic on the road. We recommend it!

An extraordinary spot with the view it offers! We stayed two nights; on the first morning we woke up to cows! Shame that some people park right next to you despite the available space and spoil the experience a little. Summer leisure activities include sledging, zip-line cycling, go-karting, inflatable rings, and more.

Idyllic place solely because of the views. In the end, you are at the very top—or almost—of the mountain. No shade, and too many bugs because of all the cows, horses, and sheep. We literally slept with cows right next to the van; at midnight you could still hear their bells as they ate the grass beside the rear door. We slept in the paved parking area, which is surrounded by grass. There are many paths and more remote spots, but those require driving onto dirt and into the countryside, which did not seem suitable to us. There are no toilets or facilities. Only a shelter that closes at night, and I do not know whether they would let you use its bathroom just like that. It was unbearably hot all afternoon and evening. Then the weather suddenly changed, bringing wind and lightning storms, but even that did not get rid of the heat. In short, far too exposed. Animals are always welcome, but our dog kept growling at the cows beside us at night—something to bear in mind if you have one.

Excellent, but obviously very busy at this time of year, so forget about wild camping. Still, unobstructed views and peace and quiet.

Two large parking areas with exceptional views of the Pyrenees. Horses, cows, and sheep for company. Sunset. Bins nearby. Very, very quiet road at night.

Probably a magnificent place, but currently under construction; you have to go a little higher to stop. No restrictions, accessible, and very pleasant.
