Peaceful wharf, aircraft noise

I enjoyed staying here, it was very peaceful and quiet. Similar to a previous review, it does seem like a sketchy meeting spot for people. Cars were coming and going up until midnight. I felt a little uneasy since you are completely alone here, however they would meet up briefly and leave again. As long as you keep to yourself you should be fine. Best to avoid if you're travelling solo.

Cool spot where we were alone at the beginning of May. I agree with the other comments. What should also be mentioned is the airport ‘opposite’. Along with the sound of the wind, there are departing and landing aircraft. The sea view is beautiful, though somewhat spoiled by smoking factories. The quay itself is industrial chic, which we liked, but probably not everyone will.

Very quiet spot. It is not a particularly poetic place, but it is perfect for sleeping. No services, but it is large and very flat.

On the evening we stayed, one car was waiting for several other vehicles to pass by, possibly for a drug deal. Nobody was intrusive, though. Still a good spot.

Extremely quiet, with no noise or wind, but I think that can change quickly here.

Rough & ready, but a lovely quiet park up. I have been here twice and will return. Very accessible for any vehicle. Very occasional traffic with locals down for a quiet walk. Very open to the elements, but what can be cozier than in your van listening to the outside conditions.

Great park up on this very quiet pier in the estuary. A couple of walkers and runners, but after sunset, I had the place to myself. No services. Good 4g. A couple of things to note.. This pier is very exposed and any wind is amplified. Also, with the high winds and rising tides, the floating metal ‘jetty’ bangs against the pier creating a repeated thunderous noise.

Not abandoned but a very peaceful quay. The occasional boat worker, fisherman or walker but all happy for us to spend the night. Lots of recommendations of places to visit from the locals. Access nice and wide.

Brilliant park up right next to the River Shannon; idyllic scenery and we enjoyed a great sunset here. It’s a large flat concrete/gravel pier with ample space. We were alone for the one night we stayed and had great signal here. No facilities or bins. Regardless - it was great.

Excellent free park up plenty of space wild camping on old concrete pier. No facilities and no signs. Camp under the stars. Watch planes flying out of Shannon airport or fish.

Very large parking area, with the possibility of staying overnight.
