Small free parking near the Schiena dell’Asino trailhead, suitable for daytime hiking and offering beautiful views. Access is not easy, and sand can cause vehicles to become stuck; the surface is not very flat. Overnight stays are not recommended, especially in windy conditions. A vehicle was broken into while left unattended.

We parked there for the day while hiking the volcano. Not too crowded. It’s not the easiest parking to access, but if our old 5-meter motorhome managed without much of a headache, most vehicles would. We didn't test it at night, but I wouldn't recommend it, as the surface isn't very flat. Also, there's a better option for free parking, day and night, just before the main parking area.
We spend quite some time during the day here since we wanted to go uphill to do the hike end of the afternoon and arrived end of the morning after being uphill. Didn’t have any trouble here but would not spend the night here. Hike is highly recommended! Beautiful views.

Warning! We parked here during the day for hiking. Of course, while we were away, the car was broken into. In Sicily, you should only leave your camper unattended in busy or monitored parking areas.
