Restaurant/Bar Rakip

After a very noisy night in a car park in Tirana, we decided to find some peace and serenity and settled in at Rakip’s car park by the sea. He gave us a thoughtful and very kind welcome. The parking, shower and toilets are free. To be polite, we had coffees in the morning and ate lunch there. With the parasol and deckchairs, it came to €25!!!

We would have liked to stay here too, but unfortunately the site was being worked on with an excavator, so we drove on. A shame, but once it is finished it will surely be great. The owner came right away and said we could stay here, but as mentioned, it was still a construction site.

I arrived here nervous after the night traffic in Tirana and Durrës. Very quiet place, free parking, beautiful beach, but unfortunately with a lot of rubbish. I had dinner at the little restaurant—the price partly made up for the free parking—filled up with water and had good Wi-Fi. The restaurant farther ahead charges €10 for parking. Very kind owner.

Definitely! Anyone who turns left at the end of the road and parks at Rakip is doing everything right!!! Relaxed and absolutely quiet. There is delicious, above all fresh, fish. His son delivers it to order, so it is best to order as soon as you arrive. Those who turn right stand lined up like on a campsite even in the low season. But some motorhome owners like that too.

Free parking is no longer available; €10 including shower. The food was really good and reasonably priced: €30 for two.

We had a great view of the sea. Clean sandy beach. Very quiet. The friendly operator is always present and takes care of things. Very good food. We had fish. The toilets were clean but old.

It is fine for spending a few nights by the sea. The nearby bars and restaurants are worth checking out.

Free motorhome spots… Rakip makes a great effort… hence three stars… but it is lacking in every respect. Water only available on request, toilets/shower dirty—we have never seen anything like it in four years in Albania—Wi-Fi very weak. We stayed three nights with enough drinking water on board. The water on site smells extremely bad; it often sits for a long time in above-ground pipes, so do not underestimate bacteria and germs!

Super friendly and helpful operator. We were able to stay for free; Rakip was always around his property. In the evening we had a nice conversation using a translator and felt very comfortable. One planned night became two. We would gladly come again.

The operator is very nice. We ate fish and homemade fries; it was very good. If you want peace and relaxation, this is the right place.

Very kind owner, he welcomed us, let us use shower (only cold water), toilets (shitting is ok, at least for Albanian standards). He was walking around the property and tried to be as much helpful as he could, which could be a little creepy. All for free - so we slipped him 20 euros in the morning. We slept in the open, there were many black stinging flies, that's why I gave 4 stars.

Really wonderful: great food, great people, great camping; defecating was less great.

Basically nice here…the sun is shining… Everything is closed and, probably because of the storms, there is an incredible amount of plastic rubbish. A shame, but it is only early January. Fine for one quiet night.

Free parking directly on the beach, but you are expected to eat there, which would be perfectly reasonable. There are a few beaches with bars that are okay outside this area; beyond it, the place is really dirty and littered. Very poor and rather expensive food. We got pasta with jarred Bolognese sauce and burnt fish for €12. Toilets very basic and not clean. Not recommended overall.

Good parking spot… very bad food… a tin of ravioli would have been better… what a shame.

Very good location; we were in a roof tent. The establishment’s staff were very friendly. Clean beach. We will come back here when we return.

I cannot understand how someone wants to run a bar without experience in hospitality. We parked for free and it was clear that we would eat there. The sea bream had been cut open, and we paid €11 for a fish with less than 150 grams of meat. It was completely fried in fat. We had to go inside for every request. Totally inattentive. The next day we drove to Buona Vila.

Incredibly nice operator, super-clean beach. The best fish we have eaten. Definitely recommended. The only disadvantage is that the toilet seats are missing.

Fantastic bar restaurant in an ideal location. Great food and hospitality. Highly recommend this for a few days for total relaxation.

Very pleasant place for one or more days. The owner of the restaurant was nice, he also cooked fish and meat for us. Other service typical for Albania.
