Been here?
A spacious free daytime parking area in the Domein Kiewit nature reserve, beside a petting zoo. It is busy with walkers, cyclists and families, so spaces become scarcer during the day. A farm, tavern, playground and bus stop are nearby, with walking and cycling routes around the site. Overnight stays are not allowed since 22 July 2026.

Beautiful location. Note: since 22 July 2026, overnight stays are not permitted.
Perfect for the day. The cycle path descending to the lake is absolutely worth seeing.
Parking area at the start of beautiful walks and enjoyable activities, but it lacks proper spaces for motorhomes.
We love this spot and now come during the day in the motorhome to walk in the woods and eat at Koevert. It is really a shame that overnight stays are no longer allowed. But for the day, it is fine.
Attention: under Article 39 of the Hasselt Police Regulations, it is forbidden on this public domain to spend the night outdoors, in a tent, caravan, motorhome, or any other vehicle.
Great location, but unfortunately overnight stays are no longer permitted.
Indeed, overnight stays have recently been prohibited, but it is still ideal for parking during the day.
Attention! Now closed to campers; no longer permitted!
Top location. Quiet, close to walking trails, a pond, and a restaurant. Shame that a sign prohibiting overnight stays has recently appeared. Everything good and free is being taken away from us! What a shame.
On Sunday morning, some joggers and dog owners came by; everything was very relaxed. A scheduled bus also leaves from here, although we did not use it.
Large, peaceful area. Numerous walking and cycling routes.
Amazing space in the countryside. Go through the tarmac car park and into the adjacent field … choose your spot and relax ! Great starting point for many guided walks and hikes. No services, but if you are self sufficient, then a multiple day stay would be a great way to relax and unwind. Quiet and calm nights.
Pure peace. Great place. We were here on 20–21 May and there was no partying to be heard at all. We did not hold a party ourselves either. Five stars for a free site. What more could you ask for? Thanks to the municipality for this great opportunity to stay here!
Stayed for 1 night. Awesome spot, big green field behind the parking lot surrounded by nature. Stood there with a bunch of other campers and felt a bit like chill camper city. 2 stars though as there was a group of caravans partying from afternoon to late in the evening, so if you see them (you’ll know), I would look for another place.
Behind the car park there is a huge meadow where several motorhomes were already parked, so we parked there too and stayed all day and night without any problems. There is easily enough space for about 40 motorhomes. There is no sign saying it is specifically for motorhomes, but nobody objected. At night, the only sound is frogs croaking.
We parked in the green field by the main car park, as did a number of other campers. Great peaceful location.
