Chemin des Casels, 30700, La Capelle-et-Masmolène
Been here?
This shaded picnic area beside an old windmill is a quiet forest location with picnic tables, benches, and nearby walking trails. Access is by a dirt road, but recent information says it is difficult, especially for large vehicles, and there are only one or two places. The area is attractive, clean, and peaceful. A previous visitor reported being fined for driving on a forest road prohibited to traffic.

A superb place, quiet, clean, shaded and easily accessible.
Quiet and shady place for eating, with a lovely companion mill as well. Too bad it was so hot…
I slept here all alone; very quiet, but there are only one or two spaces. Access is not very easy, especially for large vehicles. It is still a lovely, peaceful spot in the middle of the forest.
A really great spot. However, when we got home, we realized that we had been fined for “parking a vehicle on a forest road closed to traffic.” It was impossible to check afterward whether there was a prohibitory sign. There are tables and benches, and local people pass by regularly. €135 fine. It feels like punishment for motorhomes.
Dramatic arrival—the van was attacked by about fifty horseflies! But once we got out, there were no problems. Well, a few came in to inspect the place, and that was it. Superb mill! Very quiet, shady place. Picnic tables. Numerous trails for walking. We slept very well despite torrential rain that night!
Great spot that absolutely deserves respect. Hiking nearby and level ground. Space for two motorhomes.
Beautiful and very quiet place. A small stone track, but easy to access.
Sunday, July 1st, alone with the cicadas… very, very pleasant. With a T4 California van, access is no problem.
