SY7 0QF, Great Hagley
Been here?
Hopton Woods Forestry Commission car park is a quiet, secluded overnight spot surrounded by woodland, with good trails for walking, running and mountain biking. The correct car park is about a mile further along the road than the stated location. Access is narrow and rough, including a relatively steep gravel section, and the bays are not deep enough for some vans. There are no bins or facilities, while phone signal is intermittent.

Great location however not where stated, carry on following the road and you will come to it about a mile further , was very quiet, couple of elderly local dog walkers in the morning that said how nice it is to see people using the Forrest and staying here. Perfect if you have a mountain bike as there are blue/red and black runs,
Great spot off the beaten track. Reasonable phone signal if you move about a bit. Narrow and rough access road to find it past some large sheep but great spot for mountain biking and hiking.
great park up , not loads of room as bays aren't deep enough to park a van in but quite , imagine gets busier at weekends as mountain bike routes through the woods . not bins or facilities
A lovely quiet park up with good trails for dog walks, running and obviously biking. But ngl the gravel road up was pretty rough on our old van! We found decent enough phone signal.
Was a beautiful and peaceful stop! Probably good mushroom finding spot, if you are in knowledge, which to take ;P Would come again :) not so much people here, just some Dogwalkers or Mountainbikers, but the weather was rainy and some tracks closed. So probably more people, when weather is good... Only one other van, lovely girl, same age, same interests :D
Easiest to find coming from the castle in the village hopton castle. Some good signal in parts
The last 500 meters are on a relatively steep gravel road, but manageable even with our 60 hp bus. Since we stayed there overnight at the weekend, several mountain bikers arrived in the morning and parked there to start their tours. Nobody was bothered by our presence. It was very quiet at night.Translating
amazing spot emersed in nature..will feel like your not supposed to be there if you drive in at night but continue to the end and the carpark is there
Lovely quite place. Mountain biker's left by 7.0pm on a Sunday, had the whole place to myself. Intermittent phone signal and some TV signal! It's a sloping site so you have to try and find a flattish spot. Will stay their again if in the area.
Great place, super quiet and amazing walks nearby. Not the most level but can find a few places that are
