Been here?
A flat, level wild spot on a promontory with views over the Algarve foothills and, in good conditions, impressive sunsets and sunrises. Recent stays were very quiet, with darkness, hiking paths and occasional cows nearby. There are no services, and nights can be very cold, foggy or stormy. The place may become crowded with campers and hikers on good-weather days.

Good views, flat and level. Very quiet overnight, with one car in the morning. Very pleasant and cool.
Great place. Another vanlifer happened to be there, and he was also from my region, so we spent two days there together. It was very quiet. However, it became very cold up here at night, so we quickly drove back down to somewhere warmer.
The place and the view are fantastic! The internet connection is okay. If you like cows as temporary neighbors, you can relax here and spend a very peaceful night. There are no services. We were the only campervan besides one other. In a storm, this is not the smartest place to be.
Great spot, but extremely busy on sunny days. We counted hikers passing as often as every three minutes, even on a Monday. This site must be perfect on rainy days.
We spent a very lovely night here and were completely alone. Absolute peace and darkness. A great place with incredible hiking trails.
We think the place is beautiful. However, there are now five vehicles here including ours, which is simply too many and no longer discreet. At first we were alone, then more arrived; even the police have already driven past. There are many other options nearby, so please let’s respect the places. Hence the noise too…
Perfect spot it was very foggy when I was here so didn't get to enjoy the views. Spend 2 nights in hope of better conditions but no succes. In that time I did not see a single soul except for the bird who was trying to dig under my solar panel in the morning.
If you like peace and quiet, this is for you. Right on the hiking trails—excellent!!
It was a lot of fog, rain and storm when I was there so can’t say anything about the view. Pretty flat, nothing special. Kind of a narrow road there.
We had a peaceful night and really enjoyed the view around us. We were there with one other van, which in my opinion is the maximum for this spot. Unfortunately, as is often the case in Portugal, there is a lot of toilet paper around the spot. They have even made a rope barrier because just behind it there is a half-dump. Fortunately, there was no smell.
Magnificent place just a stone’s throw from Foia Peak. There were four vans in total in the area. A peaceful, quiet night with no noise. The place remains fairly clean, and the sunsets and sunrises are splendid.
Very nice place, enough space for about 3 vans. Just one car passed by the road at about 8pm and then nothing the whole night. Very quiet! There is no rubbish bin or fountain so please let’s keep this place clean!
Peaceful stay at the foot of a big tree — cool, quiet, and away from the noise. In the morning a local passed by in a pickup and greeted us in a friendly way. Please respect the place and keep it clean.
nice place, a bit of a long drive (through the Mountains) to reach it if you're coming from the sea. we arrived late at night and left early in the morning, so we didn't enjoy much of the view. Quiet and peaceful but with an uncomfortable note: since it's close to cow pastures, it's full of excrements and flies, which were hard to Chase out of our van
Superb place. We slept with cows as our only neighbors. The road is narrow but perfectly passable.
Great spot with a magnificent view and ideal for a very quiet, pleasant night. Apart from a few cows roaming freely, there is hardly any traffic here. Depending on the approach, the road can be very narrow with steep hairpin bends, but it is absolutely worth it.
This place is magnificent. The atmosphere in the evening is incredible, as is the sunset. Unfortunately, it was too cold to stay outside cooking, but if you have a large vehicle you absolutely have to spend the night here! Several flat spaces, no litter, absolute peace and nature all around you.
Several flat pitches are possible in a peaceful setting in the middle of nature. Starting point for numerous hikes across the Serra de Monchique. Be careful: Waze may sometimes indicate tracks to reach the spot, although there are two paved roads leading there. Perfect place to enjoy the sunset.
Incredible! I stayed here 2 nights and three days and it was so quiet. It’s the only clean place I’ve seen here so please keep it that way. I found it really hard to leave. The mosquitos are crazy tho be prepared
Lovely peaceful place! Flat and enough space for several vans.
Veeery beautiful spot. You have an amazing view above the whole land for it’s one of the highest points of the area, therefore also quite fresh when the wind is strong. Night and early mornings can be quite wet cause you‘re in the clouds but as soon as the sun breaks through it‘s getting warm. Loads of hiking possibilities around. Enjoy! :)
Very beautiful place with hiking trails starting nearby. We slept here for one night—it was perfectly quiet. We moved down slightly because the spot was already occupied when we arrived, but there is room for everyone. The restaurant before arriving, on the ascent, “Les Jardins des Oliviers,” is fabulous.
Very nice spot in the middle of nature. Multiple hiking trails to explore. The road leading to the spot is good, a bit narrow but nothing crazy, so access was not a problem for us (6m motorhome). We took the route going down from Foia. The best views we had from a spot this far!
