Route de Novel, 74500, Saint-Gingolph
Been here?
This wild spot offers superb views over Lake Geneva and the mountains, with very little traffic and generally quiet nights. The former cabin has collapsed, leaving one small space suitable for a van but not a 6m motorhome. The approach is winding, and the parking area can become muddy after rain. A property owner may visit and asks visitors to respect the site; wild boars may be present at night.

A superb view of Lake Geneva and the mountains, very little traffic, and indeed a collapsed hut and a road nearby. But fairly quiet!
The hut has been destroyed. There is still one space for a van, but it is small for a 6-meter panel van. We preferred to sleep a little farther down in a recess.
Very beautiful place indeed. The owner, Mr. Clerc from Novel, came to visit us and made it clear that we were on his property! Very friendly; he appreciated the coffee but still wants everyone to respect the place. Also beware of wild boar at night.
We spent a superb night, with very little traffic, a magnificent view, and reasonably easy leveling. We were there at the end of October.
Stayed here for one night. There is no sign or barrier. Because of the rain, the actual spot was very muddy, so I parked under the tree. Occasional cars in the evening; very quiet at night, but cars drove up and down again in the morning. The access road is winding and not wide enough for two cars to pass side by side. Therefore more suitable for smaller campers.
There is a sign indicating that it is private property. The road is indeed very quiet, but normally we are not allowed to park here.
Place with a very beautiful view of the lake. The area is clean. However, there is some traffic. Someone we met in the morning told us he was going to install a barrier because, in his opinion, it is used as a “public toilet,” although the place is clean and we left it as we found it. To be confirmed whether parking is still possible.
Great view of Lake Geneva. Peaceful spot, but room for only two vans at most.
Beautiful view of the lake. Quiet. Little traffic on the road. Space for two large vans maximum.
Wonderful, very quiet view near the lake. We also had a visit from a fox, which must appreciate travelers!
Splendid view! Shaded in the morning, but the sun reaches a few meters farther on. The quiet is very pleasant, apart from the light traffic, which is not bothersome. Amid the birdsong, a fox even came to say hello.
Beautiful view and good for one night; the only drawback is the lack of sunshine in the morning during autumn!
Great view with sunset over the lake, very quiet, but beware: a tree is leaning heavily.
Very beautiful view but in the shade. One space. Fine for a picnic.
