Camping Villarcayo

The campsite is operating, but in the low season you need to call in advance to ensure that reception and the entrance gate are open. The facilities are clean and complete, and the staff are very pleasant. I give it four stars because at this time of year there are many poplar seeds, and I am allergic to them.

Lovely little, very clean campsite; the receptionist is very friendly. There is a bar/restaurant next door at lunchtime, as well as the municipal swimming pool. Affordable price: two adults, motorhome, electricity, and trailer/motorcycle for €29 this July 2025.

We spent two nights there with our motorhome and had a very good experience. The campsite is run by Jose and his wife Natalia, if I remember correctly. They are a couple who make you feel like a lifelong customer. The restaurant serves very good food. The roast chicken is amazing. The campsite is more for caravan users, many of whom have permanently stationed caravans. We will definitely come back.

Very nice family campsite. The pools are currently empty for repainting, but there are two natural pools nearby. The welcome and services, all in Spanish, are also very friendly. They seem pleased to have foreigners who try to speak the language… One van, one person, and electricity: €17 per night. Basic but very clean sanitary facilities. The shaded areas are a little small, especially at 38°C…

The campsite was closed as of February 14. No one answered the phone, despite the website saying it is open all year round.

We were here today, December 19, 2024. Unfortunately, it was closed. We called several times yesterday and today, but could not get through. It can probably be assumed that there is a winter closure here. What a shame.

I think this municipal campsite is very good: clean, with very responsive, kind, and helpful managers and staff. Ignore the photo showing the swimming pools; they do not belong to the campsite, even though they are adjacent to it. Low-season night with electricity for a motorhome and two people: €17.

A perfect campsite for thoroughly exploring the Castilian region of Las Merindades: nature, culture, and gastronomy. The location is exceptional: quiet, family-friendly, comfortable, and with excellent service from the people in charge. €27 per night with electricity.
