Balloch Road, G83, Balloch
Been here?
A large central daytime car park beside the tourist office, close to supermarkets and a park with walking areas. Public toilets are available about 50m away, and the location is convenient for accessing Balloch and nearby lochside amenities. The surface can have potholes and large puddles in wet weather. Older information states that overnight parking is not permitted.

Great spot for daytime parking.
Great place. There were certainly six campers. Nice park behind the parking area. No overnight signs. A fantastic public toilet about a 50-metre walk away. Fully automated and free to use.
Arrived here; three other campers were here, so we prepared the campervan to stay for the night. Only half an hour later, a car and pickup arrived, beeping, playing loud music, and throwing their McDonald's rubbish out of the car. So we moved on.
Perfect free parking for going to the tourist office right next door, taking the boat on Loch Lomond, or visiting the castle across the water, which is closed for a long period. Scottish drinking-water tap in front of the tourist office.
Private car park, signs referring to field at back of car park - no camping ( tent picture ) , no campfires / no swimming. Toilet at entrance. Nice walks nearby & pubs Etc. Car park is pot holed & in rain has big puddles. Can park until 10pm. Leave no trace!
This is very handy for parking during the day for walking the dog and access to Balloch and the lochside amenities Clearly states no overnight parking .
No overnight stay, so...
Absolutely awesome place for an overnight stay. Great green space for dogs right next to it. Quiet throughout the night. There were also three other RVs that night, but there is space for another three or four. Recommended.
Arrived at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 2. Twelve vans were already there, with room for us and maybe two more. Great quiet spot, close to a 24-hour toilet, pubs, and takeaways. The only downside is that it is a gravel car park, which gets puddly in the rain and messy underfoot. Would stay again, though.
We spent two nights here. Large parking area with access through a park and woods on the shore of Loch Lomond, near the Sea Life centre. Nice spot, level spaces, and quite a few people slept here. The car park does not close overnight. Very clean public toilets are available at the entrance, right in front of the tourist office.
We stayed two nights here. Very quiet, including at the weekend. Drinking water and toilets are available in front of the tourist office. Beautiful walks nearby and supermarkets close by. To reassure some people, this is a public car park!
Stayed here on 27/06/22. Large car park, with a nice area behind for walking the dog. It was quiet, with no trouble from anyone, and close to a small shop and a 24-hour public toilet.
Ideal for a stopover at Loch Lomond. Quiet place with a clean public toilet. The sign saying “No overnight parking” can be ignored, or so we were told.
Stayed at this parkup last night (Fri, 10/06/2022). There were six other vans but still loads of space. Great location, 24hr public toilet outside the tourism office at the carpark entrance and bins.
Top spot, right on Loch Lomond. Free, legal, plenty of space, and level. Public toilet, although it was broken when we were there.
For my first ever stop off outside of a campsite this was ideal. A level car park with a toilet, pub across the road, fish and chips and a shop nearby. Car park was busy and we parked up with around 15 other vans. Slept like a log after the evening noise died down around 11;00pm
