Been here?
Camping Altenburschla is a tiny, relaxed campsite beside the meandering Werra River, with quiet riverside pitches and thoughtful family facilities. Grass pitches limit vehicles to 3.5 tonnes and 8 metres. Basic, clean facilities, restaurants and playgrounds are within walking distance, and canoeing is possible from the campsite. Bread rolls are available except Sundays, but there are no shops in Altenburschla; supplies can be bought in Wanfried and Treffurt.

Great campsite right by the river, very friendly operator and relaxed clientele—thoughtfully set up for families, while also offering very quiet pitches directly by the river. Full marks and highly recommended!
A truly wonderful little oasis of well-being. You are greeted by name; here you are not just a number. Sefton is extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions. Delicious bread-roll service, except on Sundays! Special thanks also to Manfred for spontaneously lending a canoe for my dog and me.
A very nice campsite for families with young children! Our children, aged 3½ and 1½, had a wonderful time here (in the sandbox, riding bicycles, playing board games—everything was available and could be borrowed), while we enjoyed the peace and quiet of our pitch by the water. We definitely recommend this campsite.
The operator is genuinely very kind and hospitable. The site is thoughtfully decorated, with many little details. You keep discovering something new, from the dog library to the reception bus, which is also full of games. The site is for anyone seeking peace and nature. We will come back. Excellent value for money.
A beautiful site with wonderfully friendly operators, right on the Werra. Everything is lovingly prepared and organized down to the smallest detail. The landscape and surroundings are wonderful for cycling tours. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the lovely time.
A great campsite in a very beautiful and peaceful village. Everything you need is available. Right on the Werra. The operator, Sefton, is a very nice guy and always willing to help. Great place.
A small campsite without much luxury, but made with great care. Everything is very relaxed and you feel welcome immediately. It is also ideal for dogs, as there are many walking paths. The nature is wonderful, and a paddling trip on the Werra is highly recommended. It's lovely that such oases still exist.
Very nice campsite by a river with a very friendly Dutch owner. A welcome sign with your name is waiting at your pitch. Payment can be made by putting money in an envelope. Fine sanitary facilities, including one in a gypsy wagon. A beautiful village with a good restaurant as well.
A beautiful, natural site with a very nice operator; everything is good. As a woman, I would have liked more washing facilities outside the toilet—you do not always need to shower. Nevertheless, we would very happily come back.
Camping in its original form. Unhurried operator, great pitches without fences or boundaries. Well-maintained sanitary facilities and an unusual tooth-brushing station. Be sure to visit the Gemeindeschänke in the same village. Slow-food cuisine with regional and seasonal products.
Very nice place! Unconventional and simply lovely! We will definitely come back!
One of the nicest campsites I’ve stayed at. Super wholesome with only tents, vans and small trailers. Really nice owner and great facilities. Right on the river.
