Av. Dom Jacinto Botelho, 5100, Lamego
Been here?
A large, free, paved city parking lot stands directly below the sanctuary stairs, with plenty of space and overnight stays possible. It is busy during the day but generally quiet and lit at night. Nearby toilets, bins and 4G reception are available; the toilets open at 8h. The sanctuary is reached by 686 steps, and the parking closes on Thursdays for the market.

Very large free parking area in the city. Toilets next to the wall open at 8:00. Simple but effective—a good night's sleep!
A great place to spend the night with very close proximity to all the beautiful sights. Lots of space and pretty flat with nighttime lighting. Toilets nearby too.
Good parking for visiting the city, located at the foot of the staircase leading to the sanctuary, with 686 steps. You can drive up, although there are very few parking spaces. Very peaceful at night. We stayed on a Friday and heard no noise at all. A 10-minute walk to the historic center. Recommended.
30 March 2026. Very well located for visiting the city. But it is only a parking area. Toilets and rubbish bins. Very busy during the day but quiet at night. Clean, paved surface and good 4G reception.
It deserves credit for being here, but if you want peace and quiet, it is not the best place. Later, on the way up to the sanctuary, we saw a flat, quiet area.
Excellent, very central parking, ideal for visiting the sanctuary. Be careful: the market is held here on Thursdays and the parking area is closed.
Perfect for day and night, right in the center with many restaurants and shops.
This is a large parking area shared with cars. Well located for climbing to the sanctuary via the staircase. Very busy, and difficult to find a space.
Centrally located city parking area, not a dedicated motorhome site. At the back there are bays where 8-meter motorhomes fit comfortably. I spent the night here.
Great free location right in the center on a huge parking area. Not noisy, even though we slept there on Saturday night. Clean toilets and sinks on the square. The sanctuary, with its magnificent climb of 600 steps, is right next door. A must-do.
Central parking area. Lots of space and close to the sanctuary staircase. Easy to use and away from the noise.
Practical and central. The laundromat is great! Walking access to the sights.
Convenient parking because it is spacious. Laundromat right next door, as well as the stairs. We stayed overnight; it was quiet.
Very good parking for visiting Lamego, next to the swimming pools. We did not sleep there. For sleeping, I think there would be a lot of traffic. Be careful: there is a market on Thursdays.
I do not recommend it for a night, unless you bring earplugs. At 11 p.m., people from the municipality were collecting barriers from the square. Later during the night, homeless people made a lot of noise, and the toilets were not open. Then at 6:00 a.m. we were made to leave because there was a market, although no sign indicated it. Several of us had to move our vehicles.
Quite empty this Saturday; fewer than ten motorhomes stayed overnight. Very quiet night, with Easter bells this morning as the sun returned, and spotless toilets—what more could you ask for? And of course, it is in the city center and at the foot of the steps leading to Nossa Senhora dos Remédios!
Best to arrive in the evening and choose a pitch. The parking area is full during the day. A circus is setting up here today.
Very central and quiet at night. In the morning, however, you can hear cars driving over the cobblestones from 5:30 a.m. Have a good journey, Vanlife bama Deutsch
Quiet night by the sports centre. Car park was quite busy when we arrived but thinned out as people left work. We spent a quite night and walked the steps the next morning. Nice cafes/bars close by. No other vans around when we arrived but a couple of others arrived later.
Large parking area right in the city center, next to the stairs. Quiet night.
Toilet and Wi-Fi—you could not ask for more from a simple city-center parking area. It is indeed very noisy because the road above is heavily used and paved with cobblestones!
Large parking area in the city center. Plenty of spaces at the moment. We do not know about staying overnight.
Terrible. No space to park. Avoid it.
Daytime parking area. Close enough to visit the sanctuary. For the night, we went elsewhere.
Very nice and large free parking area, day and night. But very noisy at night.
