Shaded parking, muddy after rain

Thanks to the municipality of Olonne-sur-Mer for providing this shaded, service-free area for motorhomes.

Pleasant, wooded area. Thanks to the municipality for this service-free but pleasant area. Too bad some motorhomes seem to have been installed for weeks or even months. The paid area nearby is in full sun and was occupied by a community for several days, despite the stated maximum of 48 hours. However, it is nearby for emptying waste tanks.

Shaded area, practical during heatwaves, quiet, near cycle paths and marshes. Thanks to the municipality for making this land available.

Yesterday I wanted to park in the shade, but I turned around. Two cars were parked in the motorhome spaces. The only remaining one was filthy, full of dirty papers; I'll let you guess what they may have been used for.

The entrance is on Rue Colonel Bletrames; above all, do not take Chemin de l’ancien stade, which is a dead end.

Passing through for one night. Very quiet rest area. Be careful, the GPS sent us onto the hiking trail; the entrance is at the parking area opposite the school.

Pretty little free area. Nothing to do in the village, but it is perfectly fine for one night. There are six motorhomes parked long-term and one abandoned but inhabited car; they are not bothersome and remain discreet.

Spent the night from February 6 to 7, 2026. A little muddy, but a pleasant pitch.

Perfect place to settle in for one night. Little or no noise in the evening and at night.

It has the merit of existing. We passed by at the end of July and unfortunately there was no space. Either the spots are occupied by motorhomes that are permanently parked, or by vehicles belonging to the owners of those motorhomes/caravans. Five spots were occupied by cars, which is a shame; we had to continue on our way. But it has the merit of existing.

The 2 m height limit makes it inaccessible for motorhomes... so I checked again: it is just hidden on the right when entering, before the 2 m barrier.

Very nice shaded pitches, but the spaces are expensive... it is possible to park beside them for vehicles under 2 metres. The only downside, as every time, is seeing toilet paper in all the hidden green spaces. Ladies and gentlemen, remember to pick up your little messes!!!

Very quiet place, we spent a pleasant night there. I recommend it.

The site is occupied by so-called permanent campers and old cars. It smells because the permanent campers dump their waste there. We left again immediately. Otherwise, it would be a beautiful, shady place to spend the night.

Very quiet spot next to a car park with a height barrier. This site is becoming a squat for motorhomes or abandoned, unusable vans. As long as the place is safe and clean! But for how much longer? Perhaps until the next clean-up for the next Vendée Globe.

Only 4 spaces for guests. The rest are occupied by so-called permanent campers.

We stayed here at the beginning of November during the Vendée Globe. At that time the site cost €6, otherwise it is apparently free. Despite being close to the town, it is a quiet little spot and you can park quite well here. You can easily get everywhere on foot or by bicycle. So if you want to explore the area, the site is ideal! Nevertheless, there are no facilities here, such as a toilet or anything like that.
