Been here?
This is a rural hardstanding parking area near the Ribble Estuary, with walking access and attractive estuary views. Recent comments conflict over whether it is available for overnight stays or is private property used for events. Where stays have been accepted, nights are generally quiet, although Sunday mornings can be busy and an overnight security incident was reported.

Stunning views at sunset and easy to find. A short walk to the Ribble Estuary, and we had a great, undisturbed night's sleep. The locals are really friendly. We stayed for two nights while getting used to our camper, and being only a short drive from the amenities was perfect.
Been advised not to stay here, the car park is for events for the function room and is private property
Stopped for 2 nights , enough parking for a few vans, friendly locals and staff at the nearby pub, clean car park nice and level, bin close by , please use bin or take rubbish away , very quiet overnight, Sunday mornings get busy with the local clay pigeon shoot, a couple of cars pass from 6am , nice views and walks
I give one star only because otherwise I cannot write a review! There is no campsite here; the coordinates lead to the private property of a sports club, with entry and access prohibited. Nothing can stand along the road either, because it is sloped and uneven, and if anything wider than a bicycle is parked there, no other vehicle can get past!
Absoulutely beautiful scenery, we were recommeded this place by a friend and me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Undisturbed nights sleep, and minutes away from the ribble estuary. A must if i say so, 100% reccomend.
This is obviously the Old car park for the pub. So I was a bit spooked. Talked to a local, said folks do camp there all the time. Enjoy it while it lasts, someone may redevelop it at some point. Not particularly scenic but quiet.
What a find! The Ribble Way car park is a perfect rural stop. Solid gravel hardstanding with plenty of space. The views across the estuary are absolutely stunning, especially for sunset and sunrise. Being so rural, it was incredibly peaceful and we had a silent night. A top-tier spot for a quiet getaway. Village not far away, easy to locate. Great views and great for photographers
Initially seemed like a great stop over. Was busy until the pub closed and then I was the only van. Unfortunately someone tried to get in my van at 2am! I did a quick exit. Be careful.- not recommended for solo travellers. May be safer in summer when it’s busier.
Pretty nice parking. The car park by the shooting range/inn was busy so I instead parked up the road a little on a layby. Very quiet night, barely any cars and some nice views of the fields of cattle around. You can also go up past the inn and park at the end of the dirt road, I checked the next morning. App says there is a water tap here but couldn't find it.. decent 4g though
Couldn’t find this place, directions led to a busy pub, road is very narrow and difficult when you need to turn around
An absolutely beautiful and spacious site with stunning views over the estuary. It's incredibly peaceful and was silent all night. You're seconds from the waterside path, with endless walks for furry friends. The village is a short stroll away for amenities, and the locals were all so friendly and welcoming. Recycling bins a plenty and views over fields a great place to just unwind
An absolutely beautiful and spacious site with stunning views. It's incredibly peaceful and was silent all night. You're just seconds from the estuary, with plenty of fantastic walks for furry friends. The local village is a short stroll away and has great amenities, including bakeries and a pub. A perfect rural stopover. Minutes from the main road but silent and views over fields 5✨️
Excellent quiet place near the pub, walks and everything free. The only problem is that on Sundays there seems to be a gathering for a shooting range. I confirm that there are no services.
Beautiful location. Easy to find and park. Lovely walk along the estuary, as well as great sunset views. Undisturbed sleep. Great spot. My wife said it is the best location we have stayed in. I have returned since, and it has been quiet every time I have been.
Very noisy at night because of the pub.
After reading all the glowing comments about this location, we were a little disappointed because this place is a pub car park, without any particular view or attraction. However, it is true that the surroundings are quiet, with only three or four houses and fields around, a dead-end road, and surroundings suitable for a short walk through well-maintained green fields.
