Unnamed Road, 4900, Viana do Castelo
Been here?
A large, illuminated parking area near the water and Viana do Castelo’s historic centre. It has no services or shade, but the town is easy to reach on foot or by bicycle over mostly flat ground. Nights are usually quiet, though weekend music on the quays can continue late. Weekday parking becomes busy from 10 to 18 hours, and rubbish bins are available.

We left the motorhome here to visit the city without any problem. We did not sleep there.Translating
Ideal for visiting the city. No services and no shade.Translating
Ideal for visiting the city and enjoying the weekend events. However, there was music on the quays very late on Saturday night into Sunday. Trash bins at the exit of the parking lot. For cycling, be aware that there are no bike lanes, so cyclists ride on the sidewalks. We took the funicular up to Santa Luiza (€3 round trip per person); very lovely viewpoints.Translating
Parked here a windy afternoon for visiting the city
Calm location and close to the center, level spaces and very pleasant.Translating
Ample parking next to the water, close to town.

We parked to visit the city, and it still felt somewhat secluded. We felt safer going to the area on the other side of the river.Translating
Perfect place for visiting the town, what a lovely town as well. So clean and pretty, quiet location, plenty of campers, very safe
Large parking area in a nice town. Quiet night. Excellent walking and cycling opportunities. Only waste containers are available. On weekdays, the parking spaces are very busy from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.Translating
Large parking lot without services but close enough to visit the city. Pleasant town. The Sacré-Cœur sanctuary is worth visiting, with an unbeatable view.Translating
We slept here without any problems. There were many motorhomes and we felt safe. Hardly any noise and close to the town.Translating
Quiet and safe area for visiting the town. We did not sleep there.Translating
Ideal for visiting Viana do Castelo. It is very spacious, and even during Easter there were free spaces. We did not stay overnight.Translating
The place is suitable for spending the day and night and visiting Viana. The night was peaceful and we did not hear any noise from the port. It is a safe place. The only downside is that it has no services.Translating
I only spent the night and everything was fine. I ended up here after passing through the Vilanova de Cerveira area and being unable to park because there was not even room for a pin.Translating
Good place to visit this wonderful city. The port is not very quiet, but that did not bother us. The town is very beautiful and well maintained. Very welcoming. Thank you.Translating
Good for a stop to visit the town
non sociale people who block and park as they want, some even less than a meter beside and in front, curtain close and ignore it other get problems with, in case of Fire it costs possible life's, the city should do something about this behaviour
Super quiet and relaxed. Several motorhomes, yet still enough space. Ten minutes on foot to the pretty town with many restaurants!Translating
Very good area without any services. Free Wi-Fi from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. (JFM_Wlan_Guest_5Ghz). There is no sign specifying that only cars are allowed.Translating
Motorhomes may not park here. Cars only.Translating
No services, good place to park and go to city center. At night is quiet near thr sea
We were there around noon. When we later wanted to go for a walk, we saw that another Portuguese semi-integrated motorhome had been broken into. The broken glass was still next to the camper. Unfortunately. There is plenty of space with a view of the bay. The parking area across the street looks better. We stayed there last night.Translating
Peaceful night and a good location for visiting the city.
Close to the city, huge parking, dark or lit places, quiet, no one bothering. Just a super place for day and night.
The place is great for visiting the city. We also slept well, although the next morning the window of a camper parked slightly apart had been smashed. We would not spend the night here again.
Excellent place very close to the city for spending the night. Relatively quiet for a harbor area. Level spaces, green area for walking dogs. The excellent hospital ship Gil Eannes is two minutes away and can be visited; €5 admission, well worth seeing. Great and inexpensive Indian restaurant within walking distance, 600 m away. The pleasant little town is 10 minutes away.
Now that the buildings shown in the photos have been demolished, there is much more space on a concrete surface, with beautiful views of the city. There are no services, but the peace and views make up for it.
Large motorhome parking area near the port. The city center and the banks of the Lima are easily reachable on foot. We had a peaceful night, but were woken in the morning by an arriving fishing boat—and experienced a beautiful sunrise.
It is a concrete parking area in the port, with good access for all types of motorhomes. Close to Viana's historic center. Quiet and safe. No services.
Right at the port, lots of space, no services.
Large parking lot, easily accessible and well located near the city center. We did not test it overnight.
Convenient near the city center. Lots of space. Beautiful sea view. However, very noisy from 6:30 a.m.
