Been here?
Large firm-ground beach parking near Baleal, popular for surfing and spending the day by the beach. Nearby beach toilets are open from 6h to 22h, and Peniche is about 20 minutes away by bicycle on the cycle path. Overnight parking has been reported as permitted for up to 48 h without camping, but this conflicts with recent reports saying it is not allowed. Music from beach venues can continue until 2am, especially at weekends.

Close to the beach, with showers and toilets at the beach. Perfect for surfers.
Beach parking with nearby toilets open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., plenty of spaces, 20 minutes by bicycle from Peniche via the cycle path.
The music makes it impossible to sleep; you have to wear earplugs or it is impossible. Do not trust the first review: it does not stop until 2 a.m. You will be wide awake.
Just a dirt car park but it’s right on the beach which is amazing. Sat ontop of the van and watched the sun go down. Vans were safe and slept well
Stayed in the parking beside this as this is not allowed for overnight. Stayed with friends and a few other campervans so felt safe. Wouldn’t stay here alone.
We loved being able to sleep directly on the beach, but as mentioned- the music is intense. It was chill live music which was soothing to fall asleep but then it turns into a club even on weeknights with booming base until 2am. Ouch. Would not reccomend if you’re sensitive to noise. Waking up to an empty lot and waves was lovely though.
This was closed because the road was being resurfaced. Just 50 meters away there was a free car park, where we spent the day and night with two other vans without any problem. A supermarket with a toilet is a few minutes away.
Overnight stays in motorhomes are allowed. We asked the GRS officers and they said we could stay there for no more than 48 hours, respecting the ban on camping. We slept there for three nights. Although there is some noise from the bars, we had no problems. It is ideal for surfers to enter the water and have the sand almost right beside the motorhome. There is a place no more than 10 minutes away for emptying and filling water tanks.
Good place to stay overnight. Next to a beach which is great to go surfing.
The coordinates show a parking area without any charm. Just a sandy surface directly beside a road that is busy at night as well. Farther along this road there is another parking area with a sea view. At least one of the pictures shown here is from that parking area.
Great parking area for motorhomes and vans to spend the day at the beach or stay overnight! We spent one night there from Monday to Tuesday and felt safe. There were probably another five to ten motorhomes beside us. About two minutes to the beach. The only downside is that it is directly beside the road, so you hear every passing car.
Great place! But be aware of the music on the weekends ( until 2am) and we forgot the wetsuit outside and someone stole it.… other than that. Great beach and vibe.
Level dirt parking area without any services. - Path to the beach from the parking area, 2 minutes. - Garbage containers in front of the parking area. - Connected to Peniche by cycle lane. - Several bars, restaurants, and surf schools a few minutes' walk away. - We spent two nights during the week and it was very quiet. The adjacent road is busy during the day, with hardly any cars at night.
A very sandy place that raises dust, with horrible music at night that makes it difficult to rest, plus road noise because it is close to the road. It smells of urine and there is paper litter on the ground… highly un recommendable.
The site is flat. But there is a lot of dirt, so passing cars raise a lot of dust. There is fairly loud music late into the night. The fairly busy road does not help with getting a good night's rest. The other neighbors are very quiet. Come early to find a spot. Many surfers come here.
We slept one night, fairly normally. There was a little house music from the nearby beach bar until 2 a.m. The beach is a one-minute walk away and there are many waves for surfing. Beautiful beach. Good place.
Very busy during the day but much quieter in the evening. Lots of litter, but close to a beautiful beach.
I'm leaving this review to say that there was space for motorhomes and vans, but we could really hear the music from the bar next door. It was a little difficult to fall asleep. It was Friday night, but it still wasn't the best spot.
A very good place to spend a few days by the beach without any major problems. No services, so please leave it clean.
We stayed for the first time on a Thursday and had a more or less quiet night, but on Friday, once we had parked, it was impossible to stay there. Cars kept arriving, the music at the nearby beach bar was extremely loud, and people were shouting. We had to find another place to spend the night.
Good calm night with no problems of camping.
Not bad for sleeping without being disturbed, and it is safe. We stayed two nights and the location is good for walking to the town, beach, and beach bars.
Be careful finding this spot. We got the wrong parking lot ~100m closer from Peniche side which is only for normal cars. Unfortunately we paid 30€ penalty but it is only our fault. Correct parking is small, little bit noisy, but safe, and we spent there 2 nights whithout problems.
We slept there on Saturday night. Very quiet; there were only three or four vans. The road runs right alongside it, but there was no noise. A short walk from the beach, with rubbish nearby… nothing bad to say.
Good for parking in the day but was kept up all night by loud music. That was on a Monday night too :(
Spend a night here, very calm in the off-season. had the whole parkinglot pretty much for ourselves. Trashcans across the street. is not the prettiest, but for us that was ok. The beach is beautiful, nice walk to Baleal and cafes and restaurants along the beach even open in february.
