Streamside layby, short vehicles only

Almost flat layby by a stream and just away from the road going through Dunster. Perfect spot. No facilities but peaceful

Do not go through the village during peak times if you have a big vehicle. Park up is good and nice walk into village.

Great park up in a lay-by near Dunster. Slightly sloping, but next to a little stream and under trees. Close to main road, but not too noisy. Very quiet and very dark in the night so slept well here for two nights with no problem. Grabbist Hill is a lovely uphill walk and then down into Dunster village. Phone signal isn’t good, but would definitely use this park up again.

A rare and all the more welcome exception to the no overnight parking and sleeping rule. Near the road, admittedly, but shaded and at the entrance to Dunster, its castle and the cycling tours I want to do using the Exmoor cycling country lanes map I got at the National Park centre. I have just arrived: to avoid blocking the whole place, vehicles over 6 metres should stay away!✦Translating

Nice little walk opposite this layby up through the woods and down into Dunster. Didn't stay overnight but would happily do so. Park up used by elderly walkers so best to park leaving maximum room for cars - ok if you are 6 m or less.

Just off the main road going into Dunster. 10 minute walk from Dunster. Little bit of road noise but nothing major, and a very slight slope. We were the only ones there, and it’s perfect for one night.

Decent spot for the night, short walk to the pub/village and used it as day parking aswell. About a mile walk to the tallest tree in the UK!! Only bad thing was a quad (gamer or gamekeeper) drove passed at 8 in the morning screaming ‘get up’. Was a decent alarm but I’d have preferred a lie in.

A wonderful little place with a stream running past and very quiet.

Nice spot, completely quiet after 9 p.m. Very limited 4G but good phone signal. Slept well until 6 a.m., when cars began arriving for the allotments next door.✦Translating

Feels safe and quiet. You can hear the nearby stream, which is rather pleasant to sleep beside. If you park facing toward or away from the stream, there is probably enough room for six vans.✦Translating
