22 Strada Madonna della Vittoria, 66100, Chieti
Been here?
Free, paved and mostly level parking for visiting Chieti, about 20 minutes on foot from the town centre. Overnight parking is officially prohibited, although recent visitors reported spending a quiet night there. Fresh water and grey-water disposal are available, but the service area is extremely dirty, poorly marked and has no usable black-water disposal. There is no shade, and steep, narrow approach roads should be avoided.

Sunny parking area. Behind the padel court. To access it, avoid Via del Frantoio and Via Modesto della Porta: the climbs are very steep and narrow.
We did not spend the night, but we stopped to visit the center of Chieti, which definitely deserves a visit. Fairly close to the center, about a 20-minute walk.
Very quiet parking area, fairly level, and 15–20 minutes from the city center. We spent one night and slept very well! I do not know what the waste-disposal area is like because we did not use it.
Nice parking area for campers. Good for visiting the town, which is very beautiful. A little far away, with a very steep climb to reach the historic center, but it is worth it. I did not fill or empty anything, but I think everything is reasonably efficient.
Water filling and waste disposal work, but the designated area is disgustingly dirty: condoms, feces, and rubbish. There are two taps, but it is unclear which one to use, and there are no instructions.
All services work and are free. But the waste-disposal area is truly disgusting. A few motorhomes have been parked here for a long time.
Water and waste facilities available and working—but extremely dirty. A shame; hygienic servicing is almost impossible!
Here we are, six motorhomes sleeping perfectly. Close to the pretty village, very quiet, and free—something that is increasingly rare in Italy.
Uninviting place, but a quiet night. It serves as a motorhome parking area for local residents. The service area is in a deplorable condition, with no possibility of emptying the black-water tank.
We spent a quiet night here in June 2025. The water and waste facilities could be better maintained. We ordered two delicious pizzas from Pizzeria Vasanicola, delivered for €2.50. The owner speaks German. The town is also worth visiting.
Useful only for emptying gray water, at the back of the lot behind the padel courts. There are two sinks, but we avoided filling with water because of the poor condition of the place.
Essentially just a place to fill and empty tanks, nothing more. Peaceful stop on a paved lot, nothing more. Mediocre in every respect and generally neglected. Wake up, Abruzzo!!!
August 2024: it looks like a somewhat rough area, but it was actually quiet when I passed through.
They have set up a padel court on the lot. Few spaces, and certainly not a suitable place to stop. Service facilities present, but completely neglected. What a shame.
Good paved parking area with water filling and waste disposal. All things considered, since it is free, you cannot ask for more. We spent a peaceful night.
This used to be a larger motorhome area, but half was taken over for a tennis practice court. Two motorhomes are permanently parked there, and by 6 p.m. the entire parking lot was full of regular cars for the sports hall. The site was not clean, but we stayed and had a peaceful night. Interesting location for visiting the center; the archaeological museum, which is well worth it, is 30 minutes away.
Very good for emptying tanks, filling with water, and emptying your bins. I would not want to spend the night there; it is a very bleak place.
Well-maintained and clean motorhome area, with separate waste bins on site. Tap with a half-inch connection and good water pressure. The gray-water and toilet dump grates have been cleaned and work properly. It is important that all of us who use the motorhome service leave it as clean as we found it. Many thanks to the municipality of Chieti.
A reasonable site with views over the valley from some places. However this is a very large town/city with lots of high rise flats. The historic area is in the centre so the walk uphill is through a built up area
Large free parking area, accessible even for large motorhomes, with a great view. The walk uphill to the historic city takes about 20 minutes.
Very quiet and spacious parking area. At sunset you can admire the Sleeping Beauty mountain. Nearby is Bucchianico, a small village that is definitely worth visiting. Abruzzo is rich in beautiful places, such as the Sorgenti di Venere springs in Scafa. In the center there is the cathedral and a huge park called Villa. Abruzzo in my heart.
Excellent for filling and emptying tanks and spending the night; no electricity. There is a padel court inside, so light sleepers might be woken by the sound of matches.
The only possible stop for visiting the town. Small, with an impressive cathedral and a beautiful main street. Everything is uphill. There is no room for campers.
Quiet night. The spot and services are dirty but work. Unfortunately, some people empty their toilets without cleaning the gray-water grate. In the morning, a cleaning vehicle came and swept up some waste, so it was better, but still far from perfect. Please sort your waste and take anything that does not belong in the available bins with you.
Free parking with water filling and waste disposal. It does not look very good and is a couple of kilometers from the charming historic center, but we slept peacefully.
