A nice little site right next to the ferry slipway. Really nice clean and new facilities. A short walk to the island shop, bar and food options. Gigha is a relatively small island and there’s lots of walks and paths to keep you occupied for a few days, including the gardens.
Very clean campsite with complete water and waste services. Pitch fee of £30 for two people with a motorhome. Be sure to book in advance! Wonderful island for hiking.Translating
Ferry from Tayinloan is very reasonable and runs hourly, just 20 mins across and about £30 return. The island and the campsite is amazing. Very clean, very well kept, facilities top notch, just a few steps to a small beach, outdoor hire place and fresh seafood shack and walking trail right alongside. Book early, especially for electric, community owned so please support. It’s a gem of a place!
Excellent site and facilities in a stunning location
Fantastic campsite! Unbelievable location and very well-maintained facilities.Translating
The most beautiful, peaceful site/island. A must if you’re looking to reset and recharge. Easy to get to yet feels a million miles from anywhere. We received a very warm welcome. The site is well looked after with very clean individual toilet/shower cubicles. Recommend a drink/food at The Boathouse. Two minute walk from the site. We also walked to the Twin Beaches, north of the island though there is bike hire right opposite the campsite.
Excellent site with lovely views and first class facilities. We paid £23 per night for a pitch without EHU overlooking the bay. We plan to return.
If this is how communities run their area then maybe we should all copy it! This site ticks all the boxes as previously described. The Boathouse restaurant is brilliant, however it is quality food at prices to match, a special occasion place! Just wonderful overall! You must book though.
Just lovely and you'll be supporting the local community trust by using it. We had a warm welcome and enjoyed the amazing views, proximity to the beach and lovely clean facilities. Once you've parked up, you can reach everything on Gigha on foot or bike (hire opposite the campsite). Please support Gigha's community by camping here instead of wild camping. Book ahead.
Van parking is popular book ahead. Services etc all new and kept clean. Donation when you use the waist disposal the fees to the Gigha heritage trust. Hoping they do keep some spaces open in winter too.1 Shop and 2 pubs on the island.Friendly place very few "private no parking" however parking on the rest of the island is limited with mostly single track road and gravel tracks used by farms daily
