Rastila Camping Helsinki

We stayed there for five nights and had a narrow pitch. Completely sufficient. Sanitary block no. 4 was not okay; it was not cleaned adequately. Everything was old and some doors could not be locked. Water and waste facilities are excellent. Overall, the site is always completely full in the evenings. Metro and a small supermarket nearby.✦Translating

We only got a place on the overflow area at the edge, a gravel pitch. Awnings are not allowed, but there is plenty of space. Well organised and quiet. The only issue is that cleaning the sanitary facilities just once a day is far too little for the size and number of guests. Checkout until 15:00 is brilliant.✦Translating

We stayed for one night. The only campsite in Helsinki. About 14 km outside the city, but the metro station is a three-minute walk away and takes you to the centre. You pay at the machine by card before going down the escalator. It does not print anything; the card serves as the ticket. It is the only possibility for staying overnight near the city. If I had known when booking that you cannot put out an awning on a standard pitch (a completely pointless rule, since the individual pitches are separated by hedges), I would of course have paid €2 more for a pitch twice as large. We spent four nights in this huge, well-equipped and clean campsite. An unpleasant surprise on the first morning: my electric mountain bike was stolen, even though it was locked. A magnetic card is required to access the sanitary facilities and other communal areas, but anyone can enter and leave this campsite in the suburbs. Wonderful five-star site with a great sauna experience shared with many Finns and few tourists, plus swimming in the sea/bay. We got a pitch without a reservation at the beginning of July.✦Translating

We spent there just one night on the way to Tallinn. Even they were fully booked they found us spot for a car without electricity. Better to call before arrival to check occupancy. Camp has really everything what you need. What wasn’t nice for us on the grass that there were everywhere ducks and their excrements, quite big and really everywhere.

Great campsite with a grassy play area, playground, and beach, very close to the metro. Use it to explore Helsinki. Taking the full package makes it quite expensive, as expected in a capital city. We stayed three nights. We couldn't find Wi-Fi, but we didn't need it.

Good campsite! Friendly reception, choice of large or smaller pitches, with or without electricity and a camping card. We had a large pitch without electricity; for two people it was €34. With electricity it was €42. Several sanitary blocks, wonderfully hot showers, washing machine and dryer available. The metro is practically next to the campsite and you can be in central Helsinki within 20 minutes.

Perfect for exploring Helsinki immediately after arriving by ferry. Less than 10 minutes from the ferry terminal to the site. Two adults and one camper without electricity cost €36. Toilets and showers clean and sufficient. The metro takes 20 minutes to the city. We would use this site again.

Great site for visiting Helsinki, so it is usually quite full. Everything is well organized and there are sufficient sanitary facilities with spacious showers, always very clean. The price is reasonable for a capital city. Metro and a small K-Market are 400 m away. We bought a two-day public transport ticket, which was extremely practical. Recommended!

Very well-organized site. Only a 500-meter walk to Rastila metro station and from there to the center. On the one hand, it is located within the city; on the other, it is close enough to nature that we saw deer and a fox.

Municipal campsite, the only one in Helsinki. It has the disadvantages of its location: large, with motorhomes packed closely together in rows. But two very good points: excellent, very well-maintained facilities, and above all smiling, attentive, and highly professional staff. Despite the urban surroundings, a hare has made its home at the campsite and wanders through the lanes. I named him Vatanen.

Perfect for a city campsite! Metro station just around the corner & travel is simple with the HSL App (head for Central Station). We emailed a booking just to be sure and glad we did as it was busy - we were given a nice wide pitch instead of a narrow one. 3 facilities blocks (key card access) but one closed at time of visit. Everything well laid out & very clean. Rodi's pizza was great!

Rather modern and beautifully laid-out site, but unfortunately all the pitches I saw were very sloped. After a week and a half, I had to use leveling blocks for the first time. The price is okay at €31 including electricity (€44 without a camping card), but it could be reduced a little in winter. Probably not necessary because of the long-term campers. This was my last night before the ferry from Helsinki.

We stayed here over New Year's. Very clean and large campsite. Nice staff and many extras. Especially important for us was the drying room for our snowy clothes and the sauna ❤️

After seven weeks and eight countries on the road Rastila scores highest on cleanliness, security, possibilities to walk the dogs in nice neighbourhood, size of the pitches and ease to set yourself up, warmness of shower rooms, closeness to public transport. Well done Helsinki.

Wonderful for a city campsite, everything you need is available, well-maintained site, direct access to the beach and forest, and metro to the city center. The sanitary facilities are kept very clean and the staff are kind and helpful.

One person with a rooftop tent and electricity: €28. Great with the HSL app (AB area day ticket), metro M1, ten stops to Central Station. Then take tram P9 or 2 to Kaupahalli at the harbor. From there, use the same ticket to reach Suomenlinna fortress island. Kaupahalli dates from 1889. Fish and More is recommended. Return toward Vuossari on the M1.

We were able to dispose of toilet waste and wastewater and fill up with water for €3. Very nice lady. Thank you.
