Quiet wildlife-park parking, no services

Not a particularly special place, but... it is extremely quiet at night. No services, no rubbish bin, but you can legally park on a level surface. Before 10 a.m. on the weekend, not even a car passed by. Great cycle path for mountain bikes and e-bikes to the Wasserkuppe. The path is somewhat rough in places, but I was almost alone. Excellent for a stopover on the A7.

Public car park for the wildlife park, very quiet, and birds wake you up. Reasonably level and perfect for an overnight stop while passing through.

What are you doing at this site if you are not visiting the wildlife park, perhaps for one or two nights? It is a long drive to get there; when wet, you stand in the mud, and cars also park there during opening hours. Fine for overnighting, but there are other places for that.

Small car park for about 5 vans/small motorhomes. Nothing else. Not even a rubbish bin. On the plus side, it is legal and signposted as a motorhome parking area. Very poor mobile reception with Telekom and O2. Fine for one night.

We spent two very quiet nights here. No infrastructure at all; you stand fairly level on gravel. Explicitly designated as the wildlife park’s motorhome car park; after 7 p.m. there was absolutely no activity. Please leave it clean and do not confuse a car park with a campsite. The access road passes several schools, so please be careful!

Many thanks to the municipality for this spacious, tree-lined aire beside the water. The morning is noisy because of traffic, but we slept well. Places like this are rare exceptions among what is generally made available to us.
