stopped over night through the week, I called and booked a meal the day before arriving. The staff were very welcoming and the food was amazing. T-bone steak amd glass of red wine £35. A nice break from fixing something in the camper.
we had a lovely stay here in our motorhome, the food was outstanding and also the breakfast, not cheap but very nice indeed. stay in carpark 2, it's where you should stay, I did not doh. but lovely anyway.
Stayed one night over Easter holidays. Was gorgeous sunny day and pub was busy. Therefore we had to wait for level space for van. Not a problem as we sat in lovely garden with a drink to wait. No charge if you eat in the pub, book a table though. Food was fab, staff welcoming. No facilities.
Rung ahead to book a place and a meal. Dedicated parking, lovely meal and local brewed beer. Plenty of outside seating, water wheel and children's area. No facilities when pub is closed. one for our list.
Good food, nice playground, friendly staff, and beautiful countryside. Can recommend.
The owner was very welcoming. We parked up at the rear of the pub on a Sunday night having previously booked in for a meal. The meal was excellent, not the cheapest, I paid £75 for a meal for 2 with drinks. We had a peaceful night and were able to empty our loo before we left the next morning. Access is down some fairly narrow lanes so best suited to van conversions in my opinion.
Super beautiful location and exceptionally good service. We stayed here with our camper; because it was a public holiday, they accepted the last reservation for 7 p.m. Since we arrived at 7:20, we ordered our food in advance and it was served immediately after we arrived! Alternatively, beer alone would have been enough as the pitch fee! Eat the halloumi burger—it is delicious!
Stayed last night with my two girls and the dog, rang ahead to reserve a table for food and a camper spot, food was lovely, great little area for the kids outside with geese, chickens, ducks and rabbits. Quiet nights stay with lovely food served in the pub. Great little place.
Nice quiet location, good walks, and very dog friendly. Some nice beers, and friendly staff who made a lot of fuss of our dog.
Great peaceful stopover. Great food, ale and hospitality. Booking to eat required for a free camping spot. Highly recommend.
Good stopover, free if eating in the pub, which we did. Staff very friendly and helpful, food was very good but spoiled a little by undercooked veg! The bays for motorhomes are a little narrow. If approaching from the East, beware of Sat nav taking you along a very narrow, twisting country lane with few passing places.
Stayed here in Nov and again on Christmas Eve. Amazing food in the pub and a fantastic stopover. It’s quiet and a great location for our hikes in the high peaks. Highly recommended!
Spot on for a pub stopover. Good pub with delicious food!!
Lovely quiet spot by a stream. Good beer. Full breakfast £15 per person; book the night before.
