13 Rua da Rua Beirinha, 6270, Sabugueiro
Been here?
A quiet village parking area near a chapel, suitable for an overnight stay and visiting the Sierra de la Estrella. Cafés, shops, bars and restaurants are only a few metres away, with friendly local service. The former water tap has been removed, and recent reports state that there are no services, only permission to stay.

Quiet place to spend the night and visit the Serra da Estrela. No services.
They took the water. We don’t have nothing there, just the permission to stay.
Once again I ended up here; a very peaceful night… breakfast at “CASA SABUGUEIRO,” where Mrs. Lisete is very friendly and welcoming, with good cheeses and cured meats. I highly recommend it, and whenever I come to this area, I stay here. Today in particular is the Caçoila festival. Excellent.
Very quiet and flat. Perfect for staying one night and getting a good rest.
Very peaceful night. Lots of different small shops.
Beautiful, flat and sunny place in the middle of the village. Very good alternative for one night. No facilities. Unfortunately, all the restaurants in the village are closed except the 4-star Abrigo Da Montanha Hotel. We ate very good local specialties there.
Small village with many souvenir shops selling traditional sheep’s cheese and honey from the Serra da Estrela. Good restaurant with traditional dishes and many cafés nearby. Peaceful night next to a chapel.
A very good place to rest, next to the church, but we have permission from the parish council. There are cafés and shops 50 meters away, and everyone is very friendly. There is clean water for filling bottles. No waste facilities, but an excellent place.
Quiet place to spend a silent night. The surroundings are worth visiting.
We ended up staying here for 2 nights. The first night it was by choice as we wanted to visit Sabugueiro, do a route and go to the river beach. The following day we went to Lagoa Comprida as we wanted to sleep there so we could start our route very early. But unfortunately you cannot overnight next to Lagoa Comprida, so we came back here. Quiet place, the river beach is 800m away.
Nice place. Parked one night and there was plenty of space available. There are 2 or 3 cafes in the surroundings, 20-50m away from the chapel.
Excellent, quiet place to spend the night. There are several shops and cafés nearby for breakfast. I recommend CASA SABUGUEIRO… good cheeses and good wine, haha. Very friendly women serving customers. Whenever I come here, I stop here and go there.
We didn’t stay because a high-voltage power line runs overhead and it didn’t give us much confidence. It looks better in the photos than it really is.
