Really not pleasant, the place is full of dust, the location is very poorly explained, and it is very expensive. A shame, because we could have stopped, done some shopping, and supported the local businesses. We left immediately.
we spent 2 lovely days, on the shore of the canal! We had the whole place for ourselves. It cost only 14 eur per night, includes electricity. The small village Le Somail its perfect for strolls, good food, nice ambient.
A superb spot beside the Canal du Midi. Unfortunately disturbed by deliberate passes from an annoying quad-bike rider who thought it was funny to raise a cloud of dust in front of the motorhomes.
Two nights in the heart of this timeless place. Very warm welcome when registering at the harbor master's office. Motorhome pitch directly on the Canal du Midi, with an electrical hookup. Lighting in the evening. A complete change of scenery. Do not forget to visit the grocery barge for bread, pastries for breakfast, and many other things.
Beside the canal, near the center, and there is also a grocery store on the large barge at the foot of the old bridge. Friendly welcome at the harbor master's office, which is the former stable for the horses that pulled the barges.
It’s a lovely spot and we slept well but sadly for €14 for no services it’s not worth it. The electricity failed overnight and caused our battery to deplete. The village is pretty but a lot is closed on Mondays
No access to water is possible outside opening hours.
Still just as nice. It is a shame that it is paid, even if you are completely self-sufficient.
Great place despite there being no waste dump. It is open all year; do not rely on the description saying it is closed in winter. It is of course paid, but it remains a magnificent place.
Pleasant, plenty of space. It is a shame that the restaurants are closed at this time of year.
We drove there, but unfortunately there was not much going on in the village, so we continued on. Outside the season, it is open Monday to Friday. The harbor master is on site from 4 p.m.
We would like to come on Sunday morning in November. Is that possible?
Very good pitch beside the canal. Water and electricity included. However, it is a shame that there is no grey- or black-water disposal considering the price. Watch out for tractors and utility vehicles if you have young children.
The canal view is priceless, €14 including tourist tax for a dusty parking area without waste disposal has become TOO expensive. The land and electricity supply do not cost that much; €0.86 tourist tax when there is no access to sanitation is excessive. The only free things are starling droppings, full of grape seeds, and branches falling on the roof and skylights in strong winds.
This well-located parking area beside the Canal du Midi has become paid for motorhomes. What a shame, and €12 at that. No more facilities than included electricity. So-so... We even have to squeeze together, sometimes with 1 meter between vehicles, to fit 15 motorhomes. It is really no longer idyllic.
Magnificent! Very beautiful place. A price of €8 would seem more appropriate, since waste disposal is not possible. As a result, there are only six motorhomes. Otherwise, it is peaceful and there are beautiful restaurants.
Very warm welcome at the harbor master's office when paying for the parking. The person took the time to explain the different shops and good addresses. Electricity and water are available, but there is no waste disposal here. Make the most of this canal-side location, because the area will be moved outside the center in 2027, with 50 spaces, according to a reliable source. Ideal for cycling.
The motorhome area is now paid. We have been coming here for many years. €14 is reasonable, and electricity is included. The location is perfect. I found no service point for filling or emptying. Everyone can now plug in their air conditioning.
Very good. The village is nice. No waste disposal. Thank you for leaving us a place to park and enjoy the restaurants and a grocery barge.
Beautiful spot with water and electricity. We planned to stay one day but stayed two. We also managed to take a walk along the canal.
Ideal spot beside the canal. The harbor master's office staff are extremely attentive. Electricity and water included in the price.
Very beautiful spot beside the canal, €14 with electricity and water. The only thing missing is grey- and black-water disposal. Very quiet.
A charming place beside the canal, €14, with the possibility of electricity and a water connection, but no ability to empty the toilet or grey water. Very beautiful; do not miss the bookstore. It is a shame that waste cannot be emptied.
A lovely location beside the canal, some shade. The village is charming with some good, reasonable restaurants. It was quite busy with campervans, cars and boats coming and going so imagine it's very busy in the summer. There is fresh water but no disposal. Public toilet over the bridge was open. Pay the harbour master €12 Inc electricity. If it had waste disposal it would be 5 stars.
We parked here while visiting the magnificent bookstore. Quiet place.
And yes, it is paid. In case there is a campsite, Le Val de Cesse in Mirepeisset is very welcoming and quiet.
I confirm Alain's comment. We had been coming to this motorhome area for many years and were extremely disappointed to see that it has become paid: €12 with no waste disposal possible. The beautiful library is a must-see. I do not think we will return; local producers offer us a much warmer welcome.
I have been coming for years, and I am very disappointed that it is now paid. A society where everything is based on money, not even a toilet, and the one across the bridge is closed. What a shame, the place is magnificent, and the library is an absolute must-see.
Very pleasant setting for people who enjoy walks along the Canal du Midi. The bookstore is a must-see. Be careful: at this time of year, most restaurants are closed and there are no shops nearby.
Magnificent area in the charming hamlet of Sommail. The bookstore is exceptional! The peace and surroundings are top-notch.
Very quiet, a great place for walking, cycling, and visiting the bookstore.
Magnificent pitch. €12 per night with electricity and drinking water available. Peaceful night. I will come back.
Very good, except for the lack of grey- and black-water disposal. Very pleasant hamlet with restaurants and a very large second-hand bookstore.
Very quiet, with opportunities for walks along the canal and in the surrounding area. Very friendly welcome at the harbor master's office.
