This free parking area by the war memorial is beside a busy road and shared with trucks, so traffic and lorry noise can occur. It has toilets, picnic tables and bins, but avoid the rear of the second parking area because it is littered with broken glass. Nights are allowed, and the level gravel surface is suitable for a stop.

The parking area is shared with trucks during the week; otherwise, it is a quiet place.
Spacious parking area for a stopover at a monument, with a toilet and picnic tables. Bins are available.
Too noisy? The road is right next to it, with a lot of truck traffic.
The toilets were open and fairly clean, but the outdoor water point was closed. Fortunately, there was a tap in the toilets.
By the road & trucks use it but at the back of the memorial is a large level gravel car park obviously you may share this with trucks. Road noise but large bank of tress protect the car park from the road & provide early evening shade. A rough track for dog walking but keep on leads as road access possible for dogs. Yet to spend the night but should be fine.
