Been here?
A beautiful riverside spot beside the Little Ouse, with flat grass, a small beach and natural surroundings. Recent reports state that camping is not allowed and visitors will be moved on, although the area can still be visited. Access is via a rough, very bumpy track, and the entrance is easy to miss. Weekends can be busy with groups, swimmers and other visitors.

Lovely when you get here but be very careful of the road in that apple maps sent me on !! do not go down the road past the horse riding place as you're likely to lose your exhaust ! there's another way in past that road if coming north, very quiet , just hope i can get back out in my van
this is such a lovely stop, locals are very welcoming and friendly and happy to share this spot- however they are getting annoyed with campers being incinsiderate when parking, leaving rubbish and impacting the locals' ability to continue enjoying this space - if people do not start being more considerate then access to this fantastic place will be stopped which would be a real shame
Beautiful spot. but no camping allowed you will be moved on. this beautiful place is being ruined by people having fires, bbq, rubbish being left, and using area set aside for children's nature project as a toilet. you can visit but no camping.
Beautiful spot but avoid at the weekends as full of big groups of people especially in the summer with nice weather! It’s a shame as I spoke to locals and they are discussing putting a gate at the top of the road because of this :(
An excellent stopover on the Little Ouse riverbank. A large area of flat grass and a little beach where people swim and small boats are launched. Accessed along rough bumpy track. Be sure to turn left onto this after passing the cottages on right , otherwise you are heading to a farms private track which is marked No Access. Probably not suitable for damp weather or for vehicles more than 6.5 m.
Beautiful spot next to the river. Track in is very bumpy - just take it slow! Us and 2 others last night on May Bank Holiday weekend. Police did come down and have a chat after reports from locals, but were very friendly and didn't move us on. Said the land is common land so they can't move you on, but they were just checking we were behaving ourselves. No fires etc..
Beautiful location, but if you're a heavy van or a motorhome, be prepared to get stuck, I had to get pulled out by a local farmer. Not really clear as to whose land this is either.
Great place but easy to miss entrance, then bumpy, then muddy. Was hard for the ‘4th emergency service’ to find me when I couldn’t start the old’ gal up the next morning (van not missus!). Lots of wild swimmers and chap turned up saying he was from the people who now run the land and they would be charging a few quid for overnights from Easter to provide better facilities at the site, bins etc
The Police can’t move any one on as the parish council have said that the river and all the land is now under management of the Friends of the load which voted that the river should be open to all. We will be providing bins and thining out overgrown areas so there is more parking and improve the track to make less bumps for cars and so can fit in more than 10 camper vans in at the river
Just tried to stay here for the night but after a couple hours have been moved on by police. Said it’s common land and there’s not meant to be vehicles there. locals have been complaining about the amount of cars being there at once. Looked a lovely spot though. 10th sept 2024
Really lovely quiet spot right by the river. Went the wrong way and ended up at the farm - make sure you take the small track on the left. Was about 5 other campers so definitely a popular spot
Nice spot next to the water. But the bugs at night time are no joke, opened the door for 3 seconds and 200 flies came in (this is probably just in summer months) but overall nice and quiet spot, and good place to let your dogs off or go for a swim. There were a couple other campers there and I went on a Monday so imagine it may get busier on the weekend. I had 2 bars of 4G.
Beautiful park up by river. No gate seen.
