5 Am Badepark, 26160, Bad Zwischenahn
Been here?
This is a central, paved motorhome area near the lake, Kurpark, shops, restaurants, and an outdoor swimming pool. It costs 21€ without electricity, with water, wastewater disposal, and rubbish disposal available; the water tap and waste station close during frost. The spaces are clean but very tight, and the area can feel like a crowded car park. Toilets and showers are available at the swimming pool during opening hours, with showers costing 2€ entry.

We were totally disappointed. Very neglected, as was the town. Not particularly appealing. The pitch is central, only a few minutes from shops and restaurants. We left again.
€21 without electricity, clean, clear and tidy. If you are unsure how to use the card, you can watch a video about it online.
Crowded and “just a pitch”. But the fact that here are a lot of campers (in all sizes) makes it secure and a good place for a nightly stop.
Motorhome parking on asphalt next to an outdoor swimming pool. The pitches are small and you mainly feel as though you are parked in a car park. You pay at a machine. There is a bakery, grocery shop and restaurants within walking distance. We wanted to access the water with our SUPs, but could not get there from the motorhome parking. You can walk and cycle to the lake.
You should not be misled by the fact that this is supposedly a “Top Platz”; that is only a brand. Clean and everything is available, but very cramped. You cannot extend an awning. You can just about squeeze your chairs next to the motorhome with half a metre of space. It could be nicer, especially for €18 without electricity. There are definitely much better TOP PLÄTZE.
Beautifully landscaped site. The lake and lovely spa park are not far away.
We spent one night here. The site is clean and asphalted; water supply and disposal and rubbish disposal are free; electricity costs €1/kWh. Toilets are in the adjacent swimming pool during opening hours. Central location near the sea and town centre. Showers are available in the swimming pool for a €2 admission fee. Payment by debit card. Everything is very simple. €15 per night per vehicle plus €3 tourist tax per person is expensive. Very full site, with vehicles parked close together.
Everything we need is here. The water was turned off because of frost. This is already our second visit, and it is an ideal base for cycling trips in the surrounding area.
Clean and tidy motorhome parking near the town centre. Great for extensive bike rides.
The pitch price of €12 or €15 is reasonable given the location. But the €3 tourist tax in the off-season is unacceptable. In the past, during the high season, you could use the outdoor pool showers for free even though the tourist tax was €2.30; now the price is higher and the service is worse. The electricity price of €1/kWh is also extortionate ???
A nice site, with paved pitches. The pitch price is okay; electricity is €1/kWh, as almost everywhere. Tourist tax is also payable. But a TopPlatz? Now, at the end of the season, there are no sanitary facilities because the swimming pool is closed. Wi-Fi is only sporadically available. We have stayed at much better genuine TopPlätze elsewhere.
Quite cramped, but those who like it cosy…
this was a lovely place to stay. we picked ut because it was next to a great looking swimming pool for the children, which was indeed great. it was full by 1330 Saturday in August, but then emptied out on Sunday and further still on Monday. we cycled thd 5 mins into town for a lovely supper the second night. The card system for checking in and electric was good and straightforward.
Site too expensive. Toilet in the outdoor pool can be used. The pitch requires levelling wedges. Tourist tax is added during the payment process.
Well situated, stayed 2 nights, we arrived midday on a Saturday and just managed to get a space in the middle aisle but moved the next morning to a nicer space. There are some big more private spaces but it is pot luck as to what is free. Tidy site and the toilets in pool reception good however, only open part time. Lots of noise from the outside pool otherwise quiet.
A central motorhome site that many people apparently confuse with a campsite. Many of the 50 pitches are cramped, with vehicles parked half a metre from their neighbours. This is inconsiderate and dangerous in the event of a fire. There are legal minimum distances between motorhomes, which are ignored here.
Senior-friendly site, a short walk for walks by the lake and to restaurants in the spa town. A short walk to the swimming pool; showers now also cost €2. Electricity on site is €1/kWh. Usually quite full. Arrive early and wait until someone leaves, otherwise you will not get a parking space.
Super lovely site, well organised. Close to a lake where you can take nice walks and close to a lively, attractive town.
Even though it is only a car park with supply and disposal facilities, we spent two peaceful and pleasant nights/days there. The size and crampedness of the pitches depend on which part of the site you find a place in.
Sorry, but this was just so-so. The pitches were too narrow and, especially for us, half a metre too short, with barely one metre of space to the neighbour. We decided not to try the water and electricity or the sanitary facilities, as they were not clearly marked. Luckily, we found something better one pitch away at a lower price. Bike paths into town and along the lake are recommended.
Very nice site. Everything is very well maintained. You can take beautiful bike rides around Lake Zwischenahn. Everything you need is within walking distance. Farmers’ market on Saturdays 300 metres away. One star deducted only because of the sanitary facilities. They are in the adjacent swimming pool and can only be used during opening hours.
The pitch is clean and dry. The electricity columns are modern and work simply with the service card. In winter, there is a toilet at the town hall. Great place for a walk. Good value for money.
It may be better in summer when the outdoor pool is open. Now in March there are not even toilets. That is too little for €18 per night for two people, plus electricity. Otherwise, the food at Spieker is highly recommended.
We spent two nights here. It was pleasantly quiet. The site has everything you need. Check-in and check-out worked perfectly, as did the electricity. The pitch is asphalted, so there are no problems even when it rains. We took a lovely walk around the lake with the dog. We will come back, without a doubt.
We spent a quiet night here during the Christmas market in terrible weather. Everything was fine. The market is pleasantly sized and easy to navigate. Rainwater drains well on the paved site. No mud! Everything is paved. East Frisian.
Very nice motorhome site right by the lake and close to the town, with everything a camper needs (free supply and disposal facilities). Toilets and showers are available in the adjacent outdoor pool, at least during the outdoor-pool season.
A practical paved site with a tarmac road; the pitches slope about 11 cm toward the road, so levelling wedges are necessary. The outdoor pool is also closed from September to April, so the toilets cannot be used. Public toilets in the town or at the railway station about 700 metres away may be usable, but some are not open continuously.
As described, a nice site. There are electricity columns that can be activated and simple ones. You need to know this. :-) Showers and toilets are available only during the outdoor pool’s opening hours. If, as in our case, the pool is closed on Mondays, too bad. Plenty of restaurants and a bakery within walking distance.
