Ski parking, summer mosquitoes

Free in summer. Mosquitoes everywhere. The most desolate place imaginable. So much for the idea of people and nature!✦Translating

Gravel parking area at a closed ski resort. Completely flat, with a few secluded corners. No noise at night. No prohibition against parking there. No services. Fine for one night given the lack of spots in the area. Important: no mosquitoes at the moment.✦Translating

Since the ski lifts were closed at this time of year during the low season, nobody was there and we slept for free without any services. A little noisy early in the morning because of jet skis and a tractor or snowplough, but at least we had beautiful fresh snow and nobody next to us.✦Translating

We stood opposite the ski shop and asked inside whether it was possible to spend one night here. The friendly receptionist assigned us a pitch for 300 SEK; electricity would cost extra. So parking here was not free after all. Unfortunately, I find it a little expensive.✦Translating

We parked next to the service building with the red roof and had a pleasant night. Toilets, kitchen, and cold shower—everything was well maintained and clean. We were the only ones there. As already mentioned, it is really great that everything can currently be used for free, so clean up after yourselves to help keep it that way longer.✦Translating

As previously mentioned: the building with the red roof is reached by driving right across the large gravel area. The Swedes leave their cabins and caravans here for the winter season and pay a one-time fee, but can use the site all year. I spoke with some of them, so you are not alone here. Leave the place better than you found it.✦Translating
