Been here?
A simple, shaded campsite beside the river, with a nearby river beach and access to walking, hiking, and cycling activities. The latest information reports free Wi‑Fi and electricity. The beach is prohibited to dogs, and older sanitary facilities have been described inconsistently. A canoe route towards Coimbra starts about 10 minutes away on foot.

Great place. Free Wi-Fi and electricity. Fine for one or two nights.
Avoid it: €30 for two nights, with no services available. The tap is sealed, there is no electricity or water, only grey-water drainage. No toilets either.
On arrival at the campsite, there are indeed very few pitches. The beach by the river is forbidden to dogs, so figure that one out. We also paid much more than advertised: €30 for one van, one trailer, two people and two dogs. I do not recommend it if you have dogs, as there is nothing you can do with them, and it is also very expensive.
Hello, everything you need is here, including an extension reel if you need to stay longer. Refreshing swimming in the river. Today, Saturday, there was a disco by the water, so even the crickets fell silent. In conclusion, thank you—we would gladly come back anytime.
Shady campsite, with a riverside beach nearby. However, the sanitary facilities are outdated and have strong odors (the toilet cassette is emptied in the sanitary block). In the men's facilities, some toilets are unusable, leaving only the squat toilets.
Excellent simple municipal campsite. Nothing exciting, but very pleasant, with the beach down by the river, accessible directly from the campsite. The departure point for a beautiful 18 km canoe trip towards Coimbra is a 10-minute walk away. Great fun with children! The access road is manageable with a 7.5 m motorhome. On arrival, go left downhill, not right, as that is steeper. As long as nothing is coming, the return route is easy enough, although turning back onto the main road at the top is a little tricky. You can only turn left, so look carefully and it will be fine.
A great find, friendly service, nice shaded parking spots. All facilities work well. Clean bathrooms. Real bonus is the river beach and all the MTB, Running, Hiking trails right there. Def. reccommended.
Very nice, inexpensive campsite: €22 for two people, a van and a dog. Very friendly staff who speak French well. The pitches are good. The sanitary facilities are a little dated, but everything works perfectly. I could come back.
Lots of shade, right by the river. Very good.
This campsite is not worth the price (€30 for four people). The surroundings are pleasant, with the river nearby, but check-in was very slow and the owner was very surly. No Wi-Fi. The sanitary facilities are clean but outdated, with small, transparent shower doors. To top it all off, there was a cement mixer at 9 a.m. on May 1st! Dogs are allowed, and beware of the approach direction, as the passage becomes extremely narrow. The only positive point is the location.
We did not stay because we had a very bad feeling. The man was extremely nervous and said there were only three of us, although I had previously seen someone in a trailer. It was also somewhat expensive, with designated shower times, and he called someone immediately after we left. Everything seemed very strange.
Campsite to avoid. The price has more than doubled in three years. It is advertised at €10, but yesterday we paid €22 with a dog and electricity—the most expensive place we have encountered in the month and a half we have been in Portugal. Nothing justifies this increase; it is no longer anything like it was under the owner three years ago. We waited more than 30 minutes at reception. The only positive point is the location.
Campsite closed—we arrived to find the door shut!
It has become a Camperpark area. All services—electricity and waste disposal—for €10 per day with the subscription card.
Very pleasant place. Ideal for someone alone who wants to concentrate on writing. Clean, well-maintained toilets. Fair price.
Beautiful pitch under the trees and alongside the water, with an impressive view. The sanitary facilities are from another era, but very clean and functional. Water, electricity and services available.
Good value at €18 for 2 people, dog and electric with a level pitch right beside the river. Access to river and small beach directly from campsite and bar/restaurant. Yes, facilities are a bit dated but they are clean and owners very friendly. Would recommend. 20minutes drive from Coimbra.
Very pleasant little campsite by the water. No noise and easy to access. I recommend it.
The place is nice, but the main drawback is the very outdated sanitary facilities.
Wonderful small-scale campsite. Very friendly and helpful managers. The sanitary facilities are dated but very clean. Lots of shade. It is next to a small river with a pleasant little beach. We really enjoyed our stay. Penacova is a 30-minute walk away, with some challenging hills on the way there, so it is advisable to buy provisions beforehand. Recommended.
Very good night! Good value for money: €20 for two people in a van without electricity. Beautiful setting with lovely walks along the lake. The staff are absolutely wonderful.
Very good location between Coimbra and the Buçaco forest. Delimited pitch with free electricity up to 2 amps; €8 for the van and €6 per adult. The best feature is direct access to the public beach on the river. Excellent welcome, including in French. Very clean sanitary facilities.
We have been here since yesterday, August 11, 2024, leaving on the 13th to continue our journey. Perfect campsite, very friendly people, quiet, river, sanitary facilities okay. I recommend it.
We agree with the previous comments. Excellent sanitary facilities, pleasant beach, simple meals that are very good and inexpensive. Lovely surroundings.
