Vale do Caracol

Right at the entrance to Gerês, Vale do Caracol was a wonderful surprise. Surrounded by nature yet with all the amenities and an inviting swimming pool. Mónica is an incredible host. We felt at home from the very first second. The children fed the animals, we visited the vegetable garden, and enjoyed three nights in our caravan at this magical place. Highly recommended! We will definitely return!

Without a doubt, one of the best places I have stayed. As the host rightly told us, the universe sometimes puts wonderful people in our path, and in this case Mónica was a ten-out-of-ten host. The only bad thing was leaving this place. Thank you very much for welcoming us and showing us your home and who you are.

What a beautiful place! We were warmly welcomed by Monica, who gave us lots of great tips about the area. She has animals and organic vegetables—wonderful! We took a beautiful e-bike ride to Soajo. Four stars because of the basic facilities; otherwise definitely five stars. We will certainly return! Thank you, Monica.

What a beautiful place Monica and her husband have created. We stayed three nights and loved it—and so did our two children! Monica is a sweetheart and took plenty of time for us. What energy that woman has! It felt very luxurious: a large camper pitch, a swimming pool, fresh vegetables and fruit we could pick, and so on. While the facilities are otherwise quite basic, with a toilet and shower cabin.

Spectacular! Peace, nature, animals... Mónica is a very special person ;) very enthusiastic, she captivated us, especially the children, as she let them help feed the animals and harvest vegetables. She took us to see bats :) She made us love the natural surroundings even more. Highly recommended. We will return!

Monica was a fantastic host and showed us her animals and vegetable garden right after we arrived. We were even allowed to harvest vegetables for lunch. They tasted fantastic. The pitch is idyllic and offers everything a camper could wish for. Absolutely recommended! We would give more than five stars if we could.

This place is beautiful and calm. It is great with kids and you can do a lot of hiking in the surrounding mountains. Monica is an incredible Host who shows you the whole place and provides you with a lot of information of the surrounding. Five stars ist simply not enough!

A place to discover if you love nature and animals. Monica is a delightful host who takes the time to show you around and offer some vegetables from her garden and eggs from her hens. She also gives excellent advice about things to see nearby. Everything on site is well thought out. The shower room is a little rustic, but it has its charm and works perfectly!
