Strada statale di Cesarò, 98033, Cesarò
Been here?
A hiking parking area that is busy with trekkers’ cars during the day and empty at night. The road is lightly trafficked, and a flat place can be found after dark. A 12 km round trip to Lago Maulazzo starts here, but there are no trail signs, and the lake road is recommended only for 4x4 vehicles.

I walked a 12 km loop from here to Lago Maulazzo. Just follow your nose and you cannot miss it, but there are no signs. Download an offline map beforehand and off you go! The road has little traffic. You can also drive a little way along the forest road; further back there is a clearing where you can park. Watch out for large potholes! Keep the environment clean!
Quiet place at night. At the beginning of May, there were still long stretches of snow on the trail to Monte Soro, so waterproof hiking boots are advisable.
You can find a flat spot at night when it’s empty. Nice trek departs here you can find on AllTrails.
