Borðeyrarvegur, Borðeyri
Been here?
A simple, peaceful campsite with sea views and basic but clean facilities. The latest reports mention one toilet per gender, one shower and a kitchen, with payment made to the attendant or left in a glass. The grassy field may be unusable, forcing vehicles onto the outside parking area, and the site can be windy.

Simple but clean and somehow lovingly maintained. One toilet per gender and one shower in total. Sufficient for the small number of guests. In the morning, a nice older lady came to collect payment; otherwise, you simply leave the money in a jar in the kitchen.
Excessive price for the services. We were packed together in the outdoor parking area because the field was unusable and the sanitary facilities were inadequate.
05/06/2026, still closed. It's worth calling ahead! After arranging it by phone, we were allowed to stay—we are completely self-sufficient.
It's mid-May and the site, including the toilets, is closed. Two stars deducted for that. Otherwise, it's very beautiful and peaceful here. We were able to dispose of our rubbish, as well as grey and black water. We didn't see any showers.
The location is absolutely superb, right by the fjord. Unfortunately, it's still closed. After calling, we were allowed to stay for free. Thank you! (We are travelling self-sufficiently.)
A really cheap and clean site. Unfortunately, between 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. there was nobody I could pay. The small Riishus shop on the left before the red guesthouse apparently also belongs to the owner. Unfortunately, it doesn't open until 11 a.m. If they make paying so difficult... I'm sorry, but I'm not waiting half the day.
Small campsite. Pleasant site by the lake. Basic but clean facilities: sinks for washing dishes, 3 toilets, and one shower (included in the price). Unfortunately, no electrical hookups.
Excellent spot, hot shower and sanitary facilities. It has everything, just not in large numbers. Peaceful location.
Wonderful spot! Everything was very clean. We were able to see whales. The only drawback: the owner came by after 10 p.m. to collect payment for the night while we were sleeping. Two sinks, one shower, and two toilets.
The price is absolutely not worth the facilities—2 toilets, no showers, one sink! …keep driving.
Once you get over the rugged posterity on arrival, it can be quite charming. Male and Female toilet (one each) and washing up facilities behind the toilets. Drinking water fill-up and dump station both free. Grass pitches are very churned up in August, enough room on hard surface for 5-6 campers. The owner comes round in the evening and in the morning to collect payment. A peaceful sleep indeed.
