Countryside parking, sloping surface

Sloping. Many cars come and go so make sure you park aligned like cars. Single track road from Wooler. Very nice short walk around the pond, and keep and eye out for the mini walled garden. Also there is a spot slightly closer to wooler you could stop instead. No parking restrictions signed.

This was a great wee spot. We used it as the start of a great 12km walking route along St Cuthbert’s Way and back over Hambleton Hill. Then we just stayed for the night. We were the only van there. It was quiet and flat and safe. Would highly recommend.

Quiet woodland park-up with picnic tables and plenty of walking routes straight from the parking area. We were the only van there overnight which made it feel really peaceful and tucked away. Early morning stayed calm until walkers started arriving from around 8am. Great little spot for a quiet evening, morning coffee and a wander through the woods.

We enjoyed our night spent here. Public toilets are a 5-minute drive away in the town by the bus stop. There’s a sweet little circular walk where you can see red squirrels, plus longer hill walking if you are so inclined. On the route of St Cuthbert’s Way.

We stopped at the car park 100 metres before this one, a large gravel area. No traffic in the evening apart from a few cars, and in the morning the area is used as a U-turn by water trucks heading to the reservoir, but staying out of the tracks caused no problem. It is a lovely forest, with a roughly 1 km loop for a short post-meal walk.✦Translating

One of the most peaceful nights ever. We spent the day in the busy carpark then retreated to the almost unused and larger parking area just 200 metres back. Great walking all gates not stiles so perfect for dogs.

A wonderful free, flat place in the middle of nature. Walking paths. Some walkers during the day, quiet in the evening and at night. Single-track road to get there. Recommended.✦Translating

Stayed there one night with the kids. We had the whole park to ourselves. There are tables and bins available. It was a bit windy during the night, and a dog walker arrived very early (before 7 a.m.). Nice walks.
