125 Eparchiaki Odos Loutron Traianoupolis, 681 00, Loutros
Been here?
A very quiet parking area at an abandoned sports complex beside the river and forest, with several spots on concrete, grass or under trees. Recent visitors found it peaceful for overnight stays, with some rubbish, a bin and good internet reception. Follow the river’s left side through Loutros, as map directions may wrongly lead to a nonexistent bridge. The forest area is shaded, and the original listing reports a water point.

A quiet, nice place to stay for one night before the Turkish border. I agree with the previous comments regarding access.
What a great place! To get there, it is best to drive through the village of Loutros on the same side of the river. Maps tries to guide you over a bridge that does not exist, so simply stay on that side! We drove down the gravel road into the forest and had a lovely, peaceful night. Only a shepherd came by; otherwise, nobody. Great forest, beautiful river. There are even rubbish bins.
Very peaceful night. Some litter, but an excellent place to stay before crossing the border into Turkey and then setting off early. Be careful: Google Maps guided me along a sandy, muddy road, so I turned around because I could not drive there. If this happens to you, drive through the village on the other side of the river. From there, access is good even for large motorhomes.
Probably nicer in summer. Positive point: very quiet and not far from the border.
Very quiet despite the three dogs at the entrance. They barked only once during the night and did not come to see us. The place must be even prettier in spring.
Quiet abandoned land after crossing the Turkish border. Very quiet, no mosquitoes, easy access.
Several parking possibilities. On concrete or grass, without shade, or lower down in the shaded forest. Quiet! Apart from the shepherd, nobody came by. Good internet reception. Rubbish bin available. Unfortunately, lots of mosquitoes.
Beautiful, peaceful place. If you follow the coordinates, you arrive at the large trees where there is shade. If you want to stay at the old sports complex on asphalt or grass, drive back through the village and cross the bridge, then turn right immediately and continue for another 2.5 km. We had a very peaceful night there. There is also a nice little church that is open.
Very quiet and shaded place. Only saw a shepherd and goats when we were there. There are multiple spots, on tarmac with no shade or under the trees on dirt. Don’t know why somebody said it’s like a horror movie, I thought it was great. Stay on the left hand side of the river as coming through the village of Loutron
Very quiet place in an old abandoned sports complex at the end of a road. Large carpark area in between a football field and a basketball court. Don't follow google maps because it says there's a small bridge crossing just next to the entrance, but there isn't one. You have to come through the small village of Loutros on the western side of the river. The road is sealed all the way to the area.
Perfect place to rest. We spent the weekend there alone, in complete peace, with no mosquitoes. Take the path on the right as soon as you arrive at the parking area; there are several spaces by the water, all in the shade. 4G is fine. Bins in the parking area. Accessible to all vehicles, even long ones. Do not follow Google; go through the village. Excellent.
