Paid parking, steep access road

We stayed overnight in a camper, it is extremely close to trail head and very good views. Quite expensive as we paid €120 for 24 hours (2 x 12 hr toll payment) hence the 4 star. There are toilets for a small fee and a place for drinks and food.

Well, not the best night of our holiday because we got up very early and slept little. Some people leave at all hours to comply with their 12-hour limit up there! But it is clearly a great option for discovering Tre Cime! Perfect—even though 14 hours would be better! €40 for one van for 12 hours.✦Translating

Absolutely dream location, especially if you get a spot right at the front, provided one is available on arrival. Great for hiking. Extremely busy during the day. Price is steep but I get it, Tre Cime is easiest from here. But, not even portapotties? (Regular toilets were locked). Annoying attitude from the local maintenance men yelling at me something like "spots for Caravelles [I have VW T4] is not here!!!". You can time one stunning sunset and then sunrise hike within 12 hrs. Two stars are solely for the views and location.

Very scenic park up for the night but also very expensive! Great place to access the hikes around Tre Cime. If you want to see sunset and/or sunrise definitely stay up here, otherwise save some money and get the bus from lower down the valley. When we stayed it was a very cold night and we couldn’t get the van started in the morning, but the refuge has jumper cables and everyone was happy to help!

With a 6-meter-long, 2.9-meter-high campervan, under the current rules we qualified for the €40/12-hour rate. We stayed overnight, €80 total, for a perfect sunset view and an incredibly beautiful sunrise. The night was clear, around -5°C in the morning, but it was worth it. We entered at 4 p.m. and left at 4 p.m. the next day through the gate below. We comfortably managed to walk around Tre Cime and still have coffee with a view. TOP! Sleeping and watching the sunrise here is amazing. At night we could even see the Milky Way. The caravan area is marked off and separated from the car area, and it is flat. It has beautiful views. The only bad thing is the price: €60/12 hours is abusive, considering they even charge €1 to use the toilet.✦Translating

A very beautiful and breathtaking area to hike in, but very expensive parking, which must be purchased online. You can park farther down, just after the lake, and take the bus up. It is cheaper. There is a machine for purchasing parking and bus tickets. Many tourists go up there. We were there in 5-degree weather and rain, and there were still many people.✦Translating

Looks like a fantastic view and would love to park there but at the end of September we would need to book 2 slots at a cost of €120 which is ridiculously expensive just to park overnight. Otherwise we would be driving up in the dark and have no possibility of doing any walks.

If you like the mountains, do not support this kind of abusive policy. €60 for 12 hours and €120 to spend the night in a muddy, undeveloped lot with dirty toilets that cost extra. There are free car parks and places in nature where you can stay for free and that are just as spectacular or more so. If you want to do the hike, there is a free parking area at Lake Antorno from which a beautiful trail leads to Auronzo Refuge.

We arrived at 5 p.m. and left at 10 a.m. the next day, booking two time slots to see the sunset and sunrise. We paid €60, and on arrival the agent told us we could have paid less because we have a small van. So note that with a van you can book under “car.” The €1 public toilets are squat toilets without lighting—rather shameful, I think.

Horribly expensive for zero services. But essential for doing the hikes. The ground is flat and the night was very, very quiet.

Regarding the debate about whether it is very expensive—it depends. If you can afford it, it is incredible to watch the sunrise and start walking before the buses and cars arrive. Be careful with online booking: you may pay for the first 12 hours but then have no slot for the following 12, leaving you unable to do the route despite having paid for the booking.
