Been here?
This is a free gravel parking area near the Gasometer, Centro, and concert hall, all reachable on foot. There are no services, but recent visitors reported no restrictions on vehicle length, width, or height. The railway is about 20 to 100 m away, with trains and traffic creating noticeable noise. It can work for a short overnight stop, although some visitors did not feel completely comfortable there.

We stayed here for one night, arrived late and left early. We did not feel 100% comfortable, but it was okay. Two other campers were parked with us on the large lot.
We stayed there for one night. Gravel parking lot in the shade of the gasometer, Centro and concert hall. No facilities, but perfectly fine for one night. Free, with no vehicle restrictions regarding length, width or height.
Now open again without a height restriction. I don't know whether you can sleep here.
No access for campers anymore! Height restriction 2.20 m, bus parking closed with barriers.
It couldn't be worse, CentrO.
Only the small part of the parking lot is still accessible to campers, which is a great shame for the Christmas market.
The police woke us rather abruptly and gave us one hour to leave. All campers were sent away and the lot was cleared. A height restriction was installed. What a shame... Oberhausen apparently no longer wants campers either.
It is outrageous how campers are treated around this time of year. Every camper, but not the cars, had to move to a restricted parking area where everyone had to park unsafely, with cars mixed among the campers again. If there were a fire, you would be trapped like a rat because you simply could not get out. Irresponsible.
Simply a large, free parking lot. Perfect for shopping and attending various concerts.
Large, free parking lot between the gasometer and Centro. Both are reachable on foot within a few minutes. Ideal if you want to visit them. You can also spend the night here if you don't mind typical traffic noise and freight trains. We found them unproblematic. Thank you for this good parking spot!
We used the parking lot during the day to visit the gasometer and shopping center. Great place for that. Gravel surface. We went to another place for the night, but returned here in the middle of the night. Open space, not very cozy but convenient. Slight noise from trains and other vehicles. It felt safe.
Lots of space in the evening; from 10:00 everything was parked tightly! (Autumn holidays?) Many trains, including at night!
As always, good, and we come here regularly. The site offers nothing special, but it is simply great for a weekend at Centro and/or the gasometer.
Plenty of space, even though there was an event next door on Saturday evening. Five minutes to the gasometer and Centro. Fifteen minutes to Kaisergarten. It was quiet at night.
For visiting Centro and/or the gasometer, the parking lot is not bad, provided you find a free space. Don't expect much. Park, spend money, sleep briefly, leave again.
Very large site where you can park for free. We arrived at 4 p.m. and there was plenty of space; when we returned at 9 p.m., there was still space. We left the camper feeling comfortable. There was a large gathering nearby when we were there, so I can imagine that late in the evening and at night you may hear people returning.
Very practical, free of riffraff, but not particularly attractive. Quiet at night except for the freight trains.
Quietest place ever at night.
Perfect for visiting Centro. It was quiet at night apart from the freight train, but it did not come very often.
Great for visiting Centro and spending the night!
Our usual overnight stop on the way to France/UK. Plenty of space, surprisingly quiet. But that's all; it is just a parking lot with no facilities.
A good overnight spot. We did not find the railway loud or disturbing. Well suited for visiting the gasometer or Centro. We can recommend it.
We spent two nights here. It was quiet at night, and the passing train did not bother us. Nice place as a starting point for bike tours; the gasometer and Centro are right next door. When there are events at the arena, the site is packed and you may be boxed in. Somewhat littered, but overall great.
Positive: Close to Centro and the gasometer, with plenty of space at the beginning of March. But beware: If a popular event takes place in the hall, departing traffic can continue until the early morning. Noise-sensitive campers may not get to sleep until 1 a.m.
Quite okay, but be careful: we once only parked there with the motorhome to go shopping, and when we returned we were completely boxed in and could no longer drive away.
Very large parking lot right near Centro. Highly recommended. During Advent, anyone who does not want to be woken early should park in the front area, because the rear parking area is cleared at 9:30 a.m. as it is for cars only. According to the very friendly staff, this applies only during the Christmas market season.
Great place to spend the night, spacious enough and well-lit. Close to the Christmas market and shopping at Centro. We will definitely come back. Thank you to the municipality of Oberhausen for being so camper-friendly.
Perfectly suited for visiting the Christmas market. The adjacent railway line was somewhat disturbing at night.
