Sonderner Straße, 57462, Olpe
Been here?
A free, large gravel parking area near the lake, surrounded by hills, forest and cycle routes, with no services. Overnight stays are generally quiet, although the site fills quickly and the road above can be heard in the morning. The boat jetty is 500m downhill, while a restaurant and public toilets are nearby. The area is also close to the railway station and lakeside activities.

We spent a quiet night here, although you should arrive early as it gets quite full. Several motorhomes were parked in the parking area marked for buses; we saw no parking enforcement. A short walk down to the lake. In the evening, you should reserve if you want to eat out.
Ideal for an overnight stop and dinner at the Seeterrassen restaurant.
Great place for one or two nights. I have been here several times now to go on extended bike rides. The cycle paths are well developed. Day visitors naturally park here during the day, but it is quiet in the evening. 5G mobile reception on all networks. No services. I have never seen parking enforcement.
We were there for one night on 24 July 2025. Very quiet at night. In the morning, we could hear the road above. We saw no parking enforcement. For €0, you should not complain. More places like this, please.
Caution advised! Parking enforcement checks the area and diligently issues fines.
Bins at the top of the pitch, clean toilets down by the station. Great swimming lake. Simply really good.
Perfect for spending a quiet night! On one side there is a view of what seems to be a wood-processing company, though there was no noise; everywhere else is nature. Sunny pitch. We were two people, fully self-sufficient. What more could you want?
We spent a quiet, undisturbed night. Green views with ponies and goats in the meadow. Great for a day trip by boat and exploring Lake Biggesee.
We spent a quiet, undisturbed night. Green views with ponies and goats in the meadow. The lower section is almost level. Short routes to the lake and restaurant. Paper and glass recycling containers, but only a small rubbish bin.
On a sunny Mother's Day it was overcrowded and there was hardly any shade. The lake is not visible from the parking area. It is a 500 m descent to the nearby boat pier and 800–900 m to the beach, around steep banks—as is logical for a reservoir—and despite the warm weather there were no swimmers.
Overnight stays are completely hassle-free, quiet and pleasant. The walkable Seeterrassen restaurant may look a little dated, but the food is genuinely delicious! The Bigge promenade and ice-cream parlour round off a successful stay in this small holiday town. Everything is great—we will definitely return!
Nice and quiet in January.
The place is also suitable for larger motorhomes. Absolutely recommended for one night. The reservoir is easy to reach on foot. We slept peacefully and well. We would happily come again.
Please do not park in the bus parking area on level 2! The nearby truck and bus driving schools use this area for exam preparation, including parking and manoeuvring. Motorhomes parked there put the poor learners under considerable stress. The rest of the parking area is large enough for everyone to find a spot. Thank you!
Completely fine for one night. You can hear the road a little, but otherwise it is peaceful.
Great pitch without waste disposal. A wood yard nearby burns old wood, so smoke should be expected. The station and lake are easily reachable on foot.
Nice place near the lake, with plenty of spaces and a quiet night. Bins, but no other services. Well before Cologne.
The pitch is fine. Busy during the day, with people taking glass and paper to the containers at the lower pitches, and wood companies driving to the timber storage area. Fine for one night, especially as Sondern's beautiful harbour is quickly reachable on foot.
