Been here?
A basic parking area at the official start of the Ben Hope trail, with space for a dozen vehicles and no facilities. Access is along a long, bumpy single-track road with passing places and potholes. Recent visitors used vehicles up to 7.35m long and 2.27m wide, although reversing may be needed where passing places are sparse. The location is beautiful and quiet, with a nearby waterfall, river walks and no phone signal; midges can be severe.

We parked here before doing the walk. We drove an A-class 7.35m long and 2.27m wide up. Size was not an issue - the main problem was the potholes but that's the same for all vehicles. Generally there are enough passing places - there is one section that they are sparse which could mean reversing it necessary. We did have to park parallel to the road so would not be popular if it was busy walking.
Great spot to spend the night before starting the Ben Hope track! The spot is beautiful and the waterfall just off the road is gorgeous. Road to get there is a single track and quite bumpy in parts. No phone signal! Ben Hope walk is definitely worth it too!
I wish I could give five stars but the midges were like a horror movie villain! Stunning location.
Beautiful location! Right by a waterfall and breathtaking views. Losing two stars for the sheer amount of midges, I can't even begin to describe how many there were! If you don't mind inhaling them and/ or eating them.. Stay!
Spent a night here following a great walk up Ben Hope. Lovely spot, but lost a star due to being completely surrounded by midges in the morning and evening because of a lack of any sort of breeze!
Stayed two nights here and did Ben Hope, great little spot. Parked on the level grass area on the north side of the barn, leaving enough space for the door to be accessed! Lovely and quiet at night, couple of other walkers' cars. No midges yet! Took away some others' litter....
Perfect for spending the night and going hiking. Heavy-goods-vehicle access, 10 metres.Translating
Great spot. Spent a night hoping to hike Ben hope in the morning. Was nice and quiet and sheltered from the wind.
