15 Rua do Brigadeiro, 4750-813, Barcelos
Been here?
A free, peaceful motorhome area beside the Cávado River, about 10 minutes’ walk from Barcelos historic center along riverside paths and footbridges. It has water, cassette disposal, public toilets, picnic tables, a barbecue, dishwashing facilities and a nearby playground. There is no direct gray-water drain, though disposal by bucket is possible. The toilets are clean but closed at night.

A very quiet and perfect place for spending the night. There is an area for washing dishes, a barbecue and public toilets; the only drawback is that they are closed at night.
Perfect for visiting the beautiful town. Ten minutes’ walk. There is even a toilet available.
Municipal motorhome area with all services, emptying and filling. It also has a park next door with barbecues and sinks. Toilets are available too. The village is a pleasant 10-minute walk away along the river.
Quiet place many spaces available tables nearby by the river, with the town easily accessible via the path and footbridges along the river waste disposal and water available no grey-water disposal, but possible using a bucket pretty town and its rooster
Great, quiet place by the water. I recommend it.
Great place by a river. Everything free, shaded picnic tables. Toilets very clean, although closed at night. No direct grey-water disposal. We used a bucket to empty into the chemical-toilet facility in the ground, with a lid.
Very beautiful and very quiet place by the river, 300 metres from the historic town. Plenty of spaces.
Very nice place by the river. We arrived on Thursday, market day. A very beautiful and very large market. Perfect for spending the night.
Charming place; you can reach the centre via the pedestrian walkway along the river. Barcelos is a lovely town. We used the tennis courts (€5 for two), with changing rooms and showers. The nearby swimming pool costs €3 per person. The only minor criticism is that the grass was cut at 8 in the morning, but they have to do it sometime.
Typical motorhome stop (with water tap, toilet and rubbish bins) plus picnic area. Twelve minutes along the river into town. As probably everywhere in Portugal: barking dogs. Perfect for one night. Thanks for this opportunity!
Delimited pitches, water and cassette emptying possible to the right of the small stone wall. Facilities open except at night. Rubbish bins nearby. A small shop just outside the area, and of course the path along the river leading to Barcelos. DOM GALLO restaurant is very good, and the street is pleasantly cool in hot weather. On Thursdays, there is a large market/fair in the town centre!
A great place... a beautiful walk along the river. There is water for filling the motorhome, barbecues and very clean toilets. Well worth it. Thanks to Barcelos for this area.
Quiet place with a lovely promenade, spacious but unlevelled pitches. The dumping area should be improved by installing a drain beneath the vehicle rather than leaving it on sandy ground.
most beautiful, tranquil spot by the river, amazing river walk towards the town Toilets only open during daytime The emptying facilities are in the far corner, I watched some1 empty loo 1st then used their loo Cary with handle extended to then fill their grey waste into that to then empty into drain a few times. We then did this also. Teens by the play park in eve drinking but not a bother
Thanks for this area. The pitches are spacious. You can come with a small motorcycle trailer. Lots to visit, including the Thursday market.
Good morning, a tip: do not follow the GPS directions. Continue farther on; there is another well-signposted entrance. The site is ideal, and it is a very beautiful village. Thanks for this great area; we will return.
Parking within walking distance of the town. All services working, if you want to dump grey water you will need a hose. Thank you
Many thanks to the municipality for this wonderful place <3
Beautiful free area, spacious and marked pitches, with free water and waste disposal services. For grey water, bring a hose or use a container because the drain is inaccessible. The town centre is a 1 km walk away. Many thanks to the municipality for this thoughtful provision for motorhome travellers.
Very nice area near the town, with free services.
We spent April 30 and May 1 in this car park to enjoy the Barcelos Crosses festival. Very busy, clean and level, with toilets and barbecue facilities near the river. It was great; we even enjoyed the fireworks display from the camper.
Very nice, well-maintained place. We had a quiet night. Thanks to the town!
We were very satisfied.
Ideal location for visiting the town, a very quiet night sleep. The area is on a slope but nothing your ramps can't deal with. Thank you for providing this location.
There is one area for motorhomes and another where cars can park. A pleasant 10-minute walk along the river leads to the centre of Barcelos. It is quite peaceful at night. Do not enter from the street opposite the BP station. There is a narrowing where you can pass, but it is very tight for a large motorhome. There are toilets and a small children’s park.
Only one row of the parking spaces is for motorhomes. The ground is sloped and you need levelling blocks. The route on Google Maps is the worst. It is true that quite a few cars pass through the car park. There are clean toilets in the park and a small grocery shop right at the entrance. The riverside walk is very pleasant and takes you to the town centre.
Cars do not respect that this is a motorhome parking area, and it is full of cars coming and going and parking. Young people learning to ride motorcycles next to the motorhomes. And at 3 a.m., a group of young people talking loudly next to our motorhome. If the town council does not impose some order, this area is useless. We will not return.
Very nice, but unfortunately the toilet container is still closed, so disposal is not possible.
It is a very good place. Quiet. Recommended.
I liked it a lot; I spent 2 very peaceful nights. I recommend visiting the minimarket next door—the owners were extremely kind and opened their doors during their lunch break to sell us charcoal so we could cook lunch ❤️
Nice place by the river, provided for motorhomes. Wide pitches. A few water points. The town center is a 10–15 minute walk along the riverside path. The swimming pool is a 15–20 minute walk along the same path. A minimarket is just outside the parking area, on the right. I stayed 3 nights, all peaceful. Occasionally there was some noise from young people in the early evening.
