Been here?
A small, friendly campsite on the Moray Firth, with beautiful waterside views and walking access to Chanonry Point, Rosemarkie’s long beach and Fortrose. It has clean toilets, fresh water, waste-disposal points and shower facilities, including a separate shower shack. Pitches are spacious, with hard standings nearest the shore and grass pitches behind. The site is generally quiet and well maintained, although some reports describe the facilities as basic and front-row views can be blocked by larger vehicles.

Beautiful place with all facilities. And what a view!! Although adding showers would be perfect.
Visit: early July 2026, two nights. Reason: road trip through the UK. Where should I begin? First, the positives: sensational, dreamlike location directly on the shore. Reserving a front-row pitch is definitely worthwhile if you appreciate the beautiful view of Fortrose Bay. Some pitches are on grass and others on gravel. There are two toilet blocks. They are functional but unfortunately rather dated. Showers and washing-up facilities are limited. The hot water ran out in the evening during our stay. However, everything was generally kept clean. A simple campsite run with great dedication and friendliness. Superb location and an excellent base for visiting nearby Chanonry Point, the dolphin-watching spot. The wash blocks need attention soon, but we would still return immediately.
Beautiful, basic campsite in a very lovely location. They allow you to empty the toilet and gray water and fill up with water for £7, which is not something to take for granted in Scotland.
Excellent experience. Basic but clean and efficient facilities. Courtesy and willingness to explain all the activities in the area. Chanonry Point can be reached on foot by crossing a perfect golf course, with the possibility of seeing dolphins close to the beach. Fortrose, with shops and services, is about a ten-minute walk away.
Such a beautiful place to clear your head. If the pitches were staggered, it would get five stars. Unfortunately, on the second day we had a huge motorhome parked in front of us in the first row, blocking our view of the bay. The toilets are clean, and the showers in the shower trailer are too. Be sure to watch the dolphins when you are here.
great camp site with a beautyfull view. very clean and well equiped. blannck water disposal is also very clean and modern. lovely hot showers. the owner is cery nice and helpfull and she gave us tips where to go shoping and walks.
A truly wonderful, lovingly arranged campsite. If you do not need luxury and prefer to travel small and simply, this is exactly right. The often-criticized shower only needs a little adjustment and then works perfectly. Otherwise everything is clean and incredibly friendly. Absolutely recommended.
Arrived at 4 p.m. without a reservation. The campground was full, although 20 pitches were still empty.
Spacious pitches, friendly staff, adequate facilities, beautiful view of the water, and quiet.
We stayed for two nights. Lovely site by the water, but the sanitary facilities are dreadful.
A beautiful site overlooking the water. Everything is clean. Friendly reception. Ideal for the walk to the dolphins and waterfall.
We love the layout of these sea shore sites. Hard standing pitches nearest shore, grass pitches behind. Lovely welcome from the two ladies there. They emailed before arrival offering a shore pitch. Two toilet blocks with fresh water and Elsan points. Separate 2 shower shack, all quaintly decorated. £26 pn for two adults - EHU £6 Dolphin watching at Chanonry Point a must do activity.
Small campsite open to the street. It is very cute and everyone finds a little extra comfort. Affordable price. The view is excellent and you can meet the dolphins after a 15-minute walk; there is no need to pay for parking as well.
Nice small campsite. Beautiful views. A pleasant village within walking distance. The facilities were heated, but not very clean.
We didn't like it much... Very dark campsite at night, extremely expensive laundry, and no detergent included—you have to pay separately. If you need a hairdryer after 7, it won't be possible. If you want detergent after 7, it won't be possible. The bathrooms have no heating. It is true that the location is good. We would not return.
Lovely site on the seafront. £24 per night with electricity, clean facilities. Ideal for dolphin spotting.
Very nice campsite. The location is incredibly beautiful, right by the sea. The toilets are very clean. The owner is very helpful and friendly.
Lovely site with sea view pitches. Short walk to Chanonry Point where you can watch for seals and dolphins. Good facilities although only 1 shower in the main facility block, not a problem for us as was quiet.
The pitches facing the sea are very good. The facilities are decent. Remember to book, as the campsite was full on September 21. No dolphins for us, but a lovely little walk to Chanonry Point, and the small town of Fortrose is pleasant.
Superb views, plenty of space, very friendly staff. The facilities are very basic. There is also a newer accessible container.
Lovely campsite and everyone was very friendly. Brilliant sea views, but unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins. Hopefully next time.
Nice site. Showers are good in the first block, and small with a shower curtain in the second. Pitches are quite sloped and required maximum chocking. Amazing location and friendly staff.
Stayed for one night. Very Friendly staff, clean facilities and lovely quiet beach!
We stayed for one night. The welcome was excellent. The pitches were good too. The facilities were okay, although they are getting old. They gave us information about the tides and the best times to watch dolphins.
Simple but clean and tidy site next to the beach. Toilets and showers (only 1 for each gender) a bit old but clean. You can walk along to the point and lighthouse to hopefully see dolphins. Friendly staff. Crofters restaurant in the next village was excellent.
Absolutely a beautiful pitch. View of the water. Very friendly welcome! Dolphins can be seen a little farther away. Facilities were okay!
Excellent views and very quiet. About a mile walk from Chanonry Point for dolphin spotting. Good toilet block and washing up area. There's launderette facilities but didn't use.
Beautiful site overlooking the sea. Very friendly staff. The facilities are old but well maintained. You can watch dolphins about a mile's walk north. Great spot. Be sure to book the campsite!
Very nice site; almost all pitches have a view of the water. The facilities are somewhat dated but sufficient for the essentials. We definitely recommend visiting the aforementioned dolphin hotspot—we were lucky. The area is beautiful and inviting for walks. The Crofters restaurant in Rosmarkie, 30 minutes away on foot, is very good.
Extraordinary view, super welcome with clear directions to the pitch for a late arrival. The facilities are basic but clean!
