Chemin du Pey de l'Ancre, 40660, Messanges
Been here?
A few designated camper spaces beside the Carrefour supermarket, on a generally level parking area large enough for an 8 m camper. Overnight stays are permitted roughly from 18:00 to 9:00, but daytime parking is not allowed. There are no services or toilets; bins are nearby, with a restaurant and self-service laundrette close by. The adjacent woods are sometimes used as an open-air toilet.

Great location and we had a quiet night. In the morning, security woke us by knocking to let us know that we should leave at around 9:00 a.m. We were not allowed to spend the day here. He said that staying from around 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. was not a problem. We left at around 10:30.
Very quiet and pleasant for a supermarket car park. Rubbish bin nearby.
Hello, I am giving five stars to Carrefour for welcoming us—it is great. HOWEVER, I am really dismayed because there is a patch of woodland next to it that is used as an open-air toilet, with faeces and toilet paper everywhere. What a horror. Hello, campervan users' reputation! All this just to avoid emptying the cassette a little—seriously... Defecating in a bag? How do you expect places to welcome us with this? Shame.
Many thanks to Carrefour in Messanges for welcoming motorhomes on its property. The towns in the southwest, from south of Mimizan to Bayonne, are extremely restrictive about welcoming independent motorhomes. Motorhomes, avoid these towns and choose welcoming businesses instead, not municipalities that restrict our freedom. Our purchasing power does not deserve to be spent on them.
Very quiet parking area, bins nearby. Thanks to the Carrefour Market management for letting us stay overnight. As a result, we did our shopping and bought diesel. Congratulations and thanks again.
Excellent parking, authorized by the owner.
Many thanks to the store manager, who allows us to park for one or more nights before the high season. No facilities. Marked spaces with specific signs. There is no obligation, but shopping there seems the right thing to do. Very quiet night.
Very good for one night in an area where it is very difficult to find free parking. Spaces are level and large enough. Thanks to Carrefour for making a few spaces available in its private car park.
