Tischlerstraße 30, 81475, München
Been here?
A free public parking area with 20 spaces for Waldfriedhof visitors, opposite the war memorial. It is generally calm, with walking paths and access to cemetery toilets until 7h00pm, about 600 m away. A bus stop is 50m away and the métro is 15mn away. Munich motorhome overnight stays are restricted to campsites, so this is not suitable for overnighting.

In Munich, overnight stays in motorhomes are only permitted at campsites. Information on the website.
Entirely sufficient for one or two nights.
We slept peacefully here. A few lights remain on at night, which makes it pleasant. We stayed for three nights. The dog could be walked in the park, and the beer garden is open in good weather; then the exceptionally clean toilets are also open. We would stay here again. A police patrol visit also provided some extra security.
Cemetery access: November to February: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; March: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; April to August: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; September to October: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are several signs indicating that the parking area is under video surveillance. If that does not bother you, this may be a good place. We then went to the parking area at the side entrance of the cemetery, where there are no signs.
We stayed for two nights in June 2023. I did not see any sign prohibiting anything, only cars. Relatively quiet at night. The police happened to be in the parking area once. We spoke with them and said we wanted to stay overnight. They had no problem with it.
Parking area with an additional sign saying “cars.” So it is not suitable for motorhomes.
A good place to stay overnight if you are spending only one to three days in Munich and are completely self-sufficient. Bus line 56, about 100 meters away, takes you to the nearest subway after two stops. It becomes quiet at night after 11 p.m., despite the adjacent road. The site is not well paved; when it rains, the surface resembles a farm track.
Actually a beautiful place to park, but unfortunately I had a visit from men with flashlights during the night. They inspected my camper very closely and luckily disappeared when the alarm went off. As a woman alone, it was not a great experience, so I will not park there alone again.
